They wanted to cut down on meters, apparently. I think the way underwater works is just fine, but I never played the earlier games.

Thing is, I don't think that helping Thonar was the right thing for the people of Markarth. It was basically a choice between 'Forsworn raiding the countryside' and 'Forsworn being used to build and sustain a murderous, kleptocratic police state'. At least in the former case, the authorities have some sort of interest in stopping their raids rather than just redirecting them.

'Sides, even if the Forsworn are somewhat indiscriminate these days, it does seem to be a result of brutalisation by their Nord occupiers. Just check this out. Seriously, they've been on the receiving end of some pretty evil shit, and not just thanks to Thonar and his buddies.

But helping Thonar is still getting rid of the police state.
  • How so? He's running the damned thing. All that's likely to happen is that he switches to more reliable hired muscle... or worse, uses Madanach's death to further cement his hold over the Forsworn.

Alright I finally got myself a copy of this game.

But Steam won't let me install it. :(

It says "Steam servers are too busy to process your request".

I'm not that surprised. Steam has been kinda shitting itself after the sale ended and presumably everyone's trying to cash in their non-useless coupons.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    There were non-useless coupons?
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
^Well that 33% off Bethesda coupon came in handy.

    Also, it's working now. :D
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Yeah, that would be good.

    Awesome :D

@Iaculus: But the Forsworn are dead, and they only did what he said in the first place because they thought the orders were coming from Madanach anyway.
  • No rainbow star
I have too many quests going on at once x.x

Reached Labyrinthian on my way to one of the main quest missions.

    1. Did anyone else's game glitch and cause Lydia to disappear upon emerging from Shalidor's Maze?

    2. Level 15 = not ready for Draugr Deathlord, especially without Lydia by my side.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    1. No, because I didn't bring Lydia along because she wasn't helping and tended to block doors.
2.Hah, you think that's the threatening thing in Labyrinthian? Have fun doing the Mage's guild XD

Are you saying I should have been able to beat it? Granted, I only tried twice, but still, getting disarmed and 2HKO'd without using potions was kind of annoying.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
No, I'm saying that compared to the guy at the bottom of Labyrinthian, those things are pathetic.

Though for all I know, Morokei scales to your level, so he might be easier.

    That fight sucked hard.

The only way I could do it was to keep blasting him with magic until I ran of out magicka, then run as far away as possible until the game thought I wasn't in combat anymore so I could rest, and repeat that a few times until he was dead.  If I actually fought him for real he'd have killed me hilariously quickly, what with never having increased my character's health and all...

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
The fight's doable, it just requires strategy. Unless you depend on melee, in which case you're just fucked.
  • a little muffled
I think Morkei ended up getting stuck and stopped casting things when I fought him. >_>

He was fairly low by that point, though.

So, I got married, and midway through the ceremony, my bride-to-be decided to randomly walk out of the temple. This still counted as getting married, but she apparently disappeared entirely. (At least, she wasn't at her original home, my house, or the temple, no matter when I checked.) The annoying part was I didn't really realize what was going on until I did a couple of quests.

Fortunately I had a save not long before the wedding that I reloaded from, and this time I did it right with her moving into my house, but now I have to do that other stuff again. >_>

So, uh, yeah, that can happen.

Also, is it just me or do dragons really like attacking the College?
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Yeah, everyone I know who plays has had the same thing happen with the college.
  • a little muffled
Seriously, I swear that at least a third of my dragon fights this playthrough were in the college courtyard.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
The mages almost never help, though -_-
  • I clench my fists and yell "anime" towards an uncaring, absent God, and swear solemnly to press my thumbs into Chocolate America's eyeballs until he is blinded, to directly emasculate sporting figures, to beat the shit out of tumblr users with baseball bats, and to quietly appreciate what Waylon Smithers being gay means to me.
I just got it. I'll have to wait until after midterms to play, though... :(
  • I just started the bits where dragons begin to appear and twice now there's been a dragon fight in the College.
  • Has friends besides tanks now
I haven't been to the college yet, and I've already fought like five dragons.
  • Also began the Dark Brotherhood questline and did the initiation quest.

Did anyone else find the choice pretty easy? World-weary soldier, bitchy old lady, CHILD RAPIST HELLO.
