So, I'm liking hardmode so far, with one exception: corruptors. Corruptors are, in my opinion, the worst decision the devteam has made up to this point.

Their projectiles have a splash corruption effect.

So every time you see one, you have to drop everything to kill it.

And they're a very common enemy in corruption on hardmode.

What does splash corruption effect do?  Can't you just fight them in the corruption?

It corrupts whatever it hits.

You can fight them in the corruption, but more will spawn while you're doing that, and they follow you out.

Because preventing the corruption (or hallow, actually) from taking over the world is supposed to be a major part of hardmode.

I get the idea behind it, but it needs dialing back a bit. Maybe have it spawn more rarely or something.

Can they corrupt the Hallow?

And it does seem funny how the hallow seems like a place that you would want to take over the world, but in the game it is even more dangerous than the corruption

Is is possible to seal off the corrupted areas of your world BEFORE activating hardmode?

^^Yeah, they can.

And the hallow isn't as dangerous as hardmode corruption. It's just more dangerous than normalmode corruption.

^Hallow spawns all over the place the instant the WoFfle dies.

How hard is the hardmode corruption with Hallow gear compared to normalmode corruption with the best equipment you can get before WoF?

I dunno. Getting Hallow gear isn't exactly easy. You have to get every type of hardmode gear, then beat every hardmode boss at least once, and possibly more than once.

Because they're the only enemies that drop the souls you need to make it.

Do you need the souls to get the rare metals equipment, or just to get the hallowed stuff?

Also, I guess that leaves out ever getting given hallowed gear by a kind soul

No, just the rare metals.

I am not looking forward to doing the hardmode bosses solo. The Destroyer I can probably handle, but the Twins and Skeletron Prime? Shit.

You could. It would be far, far, far, far less effective than the strategy I keep telling you, which lets pretty much anyone with 100 health and no armor completely demolish it.

I'm kind of looking forward to the hardmode bosses solo. I want something that will make my clockwork assault rifle useless.

Then you can't get stuff found in the corruption.

Nope. They both stop when they reach the other.

Wait, the hallow is a bad thing?

No, it's not. It holds back corruption and provides some of the most useful items.

It's not a safezone, though. Terraria has no safezones.

I'd expect the Hallow to be the easiest hard mode area though
