^It's probably early in localization, I reckon. It's not unusual for localized games to not be immediately dubbed when it's shown off at a place like Comic-Con.
Word on the street is that it's not getting one, period, and it's going to be download-only. Because One Piece isn't nearly as popular here as in Japan, they think all this stuff will save them money (in spite of the existence of a disc release serving as advertisement in and of itself).
4KIIIIIIIIIIIDS!!!!
Rather weak in characterization, women are stuffed in refidgerators, relegated as sidekicks or as wombs. The main villain's plan is a complete lunacy.
One Piece, vandro?
Uh, which main villain? The series isn't even that close to the end, so it's tough to say.
And, see, I can't exactly deny any of the other complaints (though I'd argue that the characters are fleshed-out as much as necessary; on top of being a show that's more fun and adventurous than deep and ruminating, it's surprisingly content-dense, so there's not really a ton of room to set aside for character moralizing, and frankly, it's amazing that the show maintains as much moral complexity as it does), but it does everything else so well that it's still my favorite manga.
And in any case, I thought you liked Bleach or something.
I asked vandro about the new Gundam he's watching. Well, that's disappointing.
I doubt anyone could criticize One Piece over almost any other animu/mango.
^ Basically. I've watched plenty of series that were a fraction of its length and drew as many complaints from me, if not more.
I was talking Gundam AGE. I've got no beef with One Piece, the lentgh just deterred me from actually reading it. And yes, I like Bleach and Naruto and Fairy Tail and Soul Eater. Lynch me.
On the other hand, Firebert, the designs are cool, the themes presented are delivered with a good execution, most of the time and there's also the pacing, which is erratic. But I don't care. SPACE PIRATES BITCH.
I like Soul Eater.
son were you here i'd do it
or cleanse your soul with...punpun i guess
which you probably read but whatever
Never read oyasumi punpun.
good good
cleasing your soul it is
Bitch, I worship only one god, I need no cleansing as long as I follow him! THE GOD OF CONQUEST! KEIMA-SAMA!
Thanks for pointing the bright spots out, vandro. I wasn't exactly expecting another Turn A, but cool-looking robots are good enough.
And talking about Soul Eater just made me depressed about Hunter x Hunter's release schedule again
Ooooooh. I didn't realize you were answering Firebert's previous question directly. So sorry 'bout that. o_o;
It doesn't help that the comments about characterization and treatment of women are actually two of the only complaints I've seen about One Piece that I can sort of agree with.
As you can clearly see by my avatar change, I have seen Akira.
Even though the ending was 3deep5me, the animation was pretty orgasmic, and DYRE was right, it feels weird seeing anime with actual lip-syncing.
Okay, now I have to watch this.
Akira is basically the anime you should watch if you watch one anime.
Watching the latest Precure All Stars movie, I've noticed that the finish moves have gotten less flashy in Smile!, which makes me sad...
^^ Really? Most people would rather watch a movie than read a comic book.
I think Alk means it's a more solid story and not that manga is a more solid medium.
Still, if you're trying to recommend someone an anime, recommending them a manga instead is a little silly. And even if the manga might be a better story (I don't know if that's the case, since I haven't read it), Firebert's right in that someone who doesn't have much interest in anime or manga would be a lot more likely to agree to watch a 2 hour movie than to read a 2000 page comic.
>I feel a lot more assured telling people to read the Akira manga since it is a much more solid work.
Isn't it like 50 volumes compared to movies hour and a half?
Oh I wasn't commenting that much on the length, just on how much the movie tried to condense.
This is a sentence that appears in the Sword Art Online novels. So... yeah...
Uh . . . huh.
Well, in less ecchi-sketchy news, I finished episode 5 of Hyouka. I wasn't expecting the mystery of Sekitani Jun to be solved so quickly. But I think that's a decent point for me to watch a few episodes of FMA instead.
Hyouka is great. I'm actually like... excited for more episodes to come out. It's actually kind of hard to wait. I haven't felt like this about an anime in a while, so... yeah. Anyway, I think the story arcs after episode 5 get better, but that's just like, my opinion man. Or something.
EDIT: Also edited my previous post for more lulz.
