Dude, if you didn't spend so much time with your thoughts occupied by these things... well, you would have finished Symphogear G already.
darn
It's for the moe factor
oh lords i'm such a creep
Moe factor is important though, Vividred did it and it's characters were super adorable. This makes it even more adorable by going with hard edged lines.
Anyways, this is what watching this stuff for half your life does to your brain, please, proceed to use as an anti-addiction story free of charge.
Good, maybe I'll start acknowledging a certain persons existence again eventually.
but would
youI rather I have a strong emotional connection to the story and cast, or just blaze through things and forget about themI'd rather they leave a memorable mark, so that essences of the story become part of my being. Because it's clear that the story means something to me.
oh u
@fourteenwings Vividred's characters weren't adorable. "I am totally gonna be friends with her!" just made Akane seem kind of intrusive, and I don't even feel like remembering that pile of bleh. Also, anyone who thinks characters have to look a certain way to be cute is just plain shallow.
Seriously, I found more genuine heart-warming cuteness in Ultraman Mebius, and that was a show about a giant spacedude who blows up hugeass monsters.
A giant spacedude who's sometimes a big crybaby, and is probably more overly-affectionate deep down than anyone would be comfortable showing.
...what was I even saying?
Also, for whatever flack Vividred gets, it's cast still didn't look that underaged. Nor were their outfits that skeevy. In fact, going by that /m/ thread, the protag of twintails-thing actually looks younger in that form than their actual appearance.
Maybe you should stop posting :v
Dude, actually finishing a story is not "blaz[ing] through things and forget[ting] about them".
You might be able to argue that Lagrin and Lagrin S2 are parts of the same story, but the first Symphogear season definitely stood alone though.
> might
you are hilaaaarious.
Anyway, yes and no. Symphogear wasn't budgeted for two seasons straight away, but they've always had a big draft with more ideas than a single cour would allow. And anyway, so what? Symphogear isn't something super deep you'd need to think about very hard. It's probably better planned out than people give it credit for, but it's not exactly complex or anything.
Also, I don't recall any of your observations about it as something that would take much thought/time to figure out, so
you should know by now that I don't particularly like stating things definitively, especially when I may not be able to verify them myself :P
anyhow
The story isn't particularly complex, but the soundtrack makes it memorable. Heck, Symphogear-related music has been a significant chunk of my listening attention for the past few months.
In fact, BARK AT THE MOON is in my head as I'm typing this.
SymphoG's music is still better in every way that counts. You're just denying yourself the absolute glory.
In the meantime, I've now watched all of the Ys I anime series. Also known as Ancient Books of Ys. I think the series covers the plot of the first Ys game, and I definitely saw some familiar names (such as Nygtilger (who is OBNOXIOUSLY fast), Vagiullion (who doesn't split into little bats or multiple copies), Pictimos (who still fires energy-sickles), Jenocres (who is now apparently a human(?) sorceror rather than a generic dark hooded figure as in Ys 1 NES/Chronicles or some crazy-looking thingy as in Origin), and Dalles (who does not seem to have aged well over 700 years)), and got filled in on the plot of the first game...which turns out to be quite a bit more complicated than I previously thought.
That said, I'm pretty sure the first boss in Ys 1 NES and apparently also Ys 1 Chronicles is Jenocres, rather than Nygtilger.
Also kinda interesting how the bad guys capture one of the goddesses is similar to a way they do it in Origin.
I thought that the main character's name should be "eidol" (as in a long A sound) but apparently both the dub AND the original Japanese audio pronounce it not even as "addol" but as "ahdol".
And shouldn't Reah (the older sister) have a deeper voice than Feena (the younger sister)? But in this series (both dub and original audio) Reah has a higher voice.
Oh well.
I never claimed I wasn't <_<
I thought one of the things Vividred did succeed with was Akane's determined demeanor, it always seemed like she had a certain amount of intuition when it came to who to become friends with.
no
But really, I just think this show will be fun and stuff and I've really been looking forward to it. Now I just need to wait nine months for more news.
Man, Vividred sounds like it would make Ultraman Mebius look subtle.
Have I ever told you how embarassed I am to be friends with you? Because now I'm even more so.
That's what I'm here for :P
So here's a funny thing:
A while ago, someone showed me the Vividred trailer. On the internet.
As is typical with things from the internet, I turn them off when they start to annoy me because I just kinda lose interest. This happened about two seconds into the trailer, when I was shown a girl's ass in a close-up shot.
So last night, I was hanging out with a couple friends and we were mocking fanservice in anime, and I pulled up this trailer on Youtube. And I was surprised that it actually contained only one ass-shot after that. The rest of it was kinda generically cute girls but it was actually somewhat less offensive than I expected (considering that I was saying things like "how many more ass shots do you bet there will be").
I wonder if the series is roughly as fanservicey as Stratos 4.

Wonder what's up with glowing shirtless(?) dude at the back
don't interest me I already said I wouldn't watch HappinessCharge <_<
GJ-bu is getting a new anime special! With Mao and everything! On the downside, this probably means no second season...
^^ you forgot to put a (?) after "dude".
No that's clearly a dude
watch more animu
Ys II, episode 1: "Looks like they want another sacrifice!"
sub response: "We just made one three days ago!"
dub response: "But it's only been a month since the last one!"
this is the Japanese audio of that line: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1wmj0tX2w4B
Who's right?
Finished watching Ys II.
Interesting how it contains a number of tracks from the Ys Heaven's Sanctuary Original Sound Track ~ Electric Orchestra disc. Which I actually have in physical form.
Not all the background music is from there though.
Also, Luther Gemma shaved between Ys 1 and Ys 2.
Z/X IGNITION is like Fate/ with cards, which sort of seems interesting especially since it also lacks Fate/'s insanely... tedious universe.
I don't remember Fate/stay Night's worldbuilding stuff making anything hard to understand or whatever.
I've only watched three episodes of /Zero, but it always feels really scary to get into.
MEGAPOST
The Winter season brings us:
Buddy Complex - Sunrise's latest foray into the world of mecha with slightly homoerotic undertones. Valvrave feels are still on most people's minds and even I'm quite put off. ChouCho will be gracing us with the ED.
Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Ren - The newest in KyoAni's series of in house IP animations, based on the second novel in the series it seems to bring some maturity to the premise by examining exactly why half the cast has Chuunibyou by introducing the instigator. There will be ZAQ.
D-Frag! - This promising school comedy anime comes from Brains Base (Known for their fun school comedy anime) and will feature a wannabe delinquent boy who meets some psycho delinquent girls.
Gin no Saji 2nd Season - Second season of the noitaminA farm-school anime based on the popular manga.
Hamatora The Animation - An original anime about super-powered people in Yokohama being targeted by a mysterious figure. Seems lightly inspired by (Or was at least greenlit because of the success of) Gatchaman CROWDS.
Hoozuki no Reitetsu - The (expectedly) cute and hilarious adventures of Hoozuki and his attempts to reconcile his job as the aide to the King of Hell and his interest in cute hobbies.
Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha - A romance anime about a girl who is helped along the path of love by a fox god. May'n OP.
Mahou Sensou - Original LN flavour; a girl falls into a boys life and changes it forever with magic and fighting. Nanri Yuuka OP.
Maken-Ki! Two - Second season of the fanservice battle anime (That isn't Freezing, Queen's Blade, Hagure Yuusha no Estetica or Walkuze Romance).
Mikakunin de Shinkoukei - A slice of life series about a complicated family tree.
Nisekoi - A fun manga about a forbidden romance between Yakuza families is transformed into a show by SHAFT. SHAFT favoraites ClariS will be doing the OP.
Nobunaga The Fool - Satelight brings you Nobunaga in a mecha voiced by Mamoru Miyano. The plot seems engaging so it's definitely worth a watch.
Nobunagun - Bridge brings you Nobunaga as a teenage girl's Symphogear, erm... battlesuit.
Noragami - Hiyori's life is changed forever by a god from the boundary between the realms crashes into it. They proceed to do things of somesort.
No-rin - A popular idol quits her career to go to Agricultural school (No, Gin no Saji is the other thing up there). Her new friends who include some of her biggest fans try to find out why.
Romantica Clock - A three episode manga adaptation about two twins who are complete opposites.
ImoCho or Saikin, Imouto no Yousu ga Chotto Okashiinda ga - A ghost possesses Yuya's stepsister and can't get out unless Yuya falls in love with her. Yes it's an imouto show.
Saki: Zenkoku-hen - The latest in the many Saki adaptations. Still about mahjong.
Sakura Trick - Two girls who may possibly be lesbians try to enjoy their days at a school that will soon be closed.
Seitokai Yakuindomo* - The second season of GoHands hit Seitokai Yakuindomo, totally not covering for how badly Coppelion did sales-wise.
Sekai Seifuku: Bouryaku no Zvezda - An A-1 original series about a team of evildoers led by a little girl whose powers come from the clothes they wear. Extremely cute.
SoniAni or Super Sonico The Animation - Nitroplus mascot Super Sonico stars as a college student who is also a member of a popular band (And possibly still a gravure model).
Space Dandy - BONES go back to their roots and jack up the energy that Cowboy Bebop gave. Easily the most ambitious anime project this year already with a simultaneous-ish English dub airing in America on Toonami. Will be about alien hunter Dandy and his adventures with his robot partner QT, notably voiced by 9nine member Sataki Uki.
Sugar*Soldier - Another three episode shoujo manga adaptation about a girl who wants to step out of her famous model sisters shadow only to find them both attending the same highschool.
Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta - In an expansion of the animated version of this series that includes the film Toaru Hikuushi e no Tsuioku, a prince who loses everything seeks revenge but instead finds lifelong friends.
Wake Up, Girls! - Idols! A tiny company tries to build itself a new talent base after losing all it's previous talent. Actually a unique concept for idol anime fans, sadly eclipsed by the upcoming The iDOLM@STER film.
Witchcraft Works - A regular boy's life is changed forever when the super popular girl he sits next to saves his life.
Wizard Barristers: Benmashi Cecil - In this presumably well animated show (Judging by the PVs) Wizard Barristers defend the magical laws implemented after magic-users become commonplace.
Z/X IGNITION - Nippon Ichi's latest foray into animation is based on their popular game Zillions of Enemy X and is set in a world where strange creatures from five different worlds invade a planet. The alternate worlds cannot coexist and must therefore win this world to go on. Of course, this is done through card battle.
Youkai Watch - In yet another kids anime adaptation that is somehow not Butto Burst! (Come on!) this 3DS adaptation focuses on a world where a kid can capture and control monsters with his watch.
Buddy Fight - In the sixtieth kids anime adaptation that is somehow not Butto Burst! There will be cards and CG Monsters.
Will Watch (Skipping this part this year as I never actually pay attention to this myself <_<)
I'll probably watch Space Dandy since I've been feeling Bebop nostalgia lately. I haven't watched an anime as it airs in ages...
Ah, right. Wizard Barristers. That concept seemed interesting and I'd meant to say that I mean to check it out. Sometime.
Also our local anime club's prez seems to have Space Dandy as his new big thing.

why does this exist
(I found this in a Google search for "Lottie Gellar". I swear!)
It's a convenient way to establish that your best girl is objectively the truest best girl?
odd thought:
AKB0048 episode 4: Kanata complains to Mimori that they still aren't successors, and asks (paraphrased) at this rate, how is she ever going to avenge her father's death.
Meta explanation: needed to provide Kanata's backstory.
Simple contextualization: It doesn't make sense for her to be motivated by revenge if she wants to succeed at joining a pop group (and specifically one that apparently brings love to everyone).
More complex justification: She was angry at the time; she could have misspoken (such as calling it revenge, rather than calling it living up to what her father died for) or the revenge idea could have been what was on her mind at the time since she just had a run-in with her little sister that reminded her of a lot of earlier drama.
So I guess it kinda makes sense?
Of all the winter anime I'll watch Nisekoi because I read the manga and Gin no Saji 2nd season because Gin no Saji.
The Secret Politics of Uta~Kata
Ichika is only able to become her true self by shedding the images and rules forced upon her by an unfair and corrupt system utilized by a disillusioned person in a position of power and her uncaring leader because of the support of those around her.
