Eh. You could do far worse than buying a Blu-Ray of a good series.
That reminds me that if I really wanted to, I could buy both halves of K-On!!
But I probably shouldn't do that when I also want to drop about $90 on a deck of Magic cards and probably won't have time to rewatch K-On!! once I get back to school anyway.
It's actually a Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack, which is good cuz I don't have a Blu-Ray player. It's also got a commentary book and a massive art book.
Well, he's apparently best known for doing illegal stuff, so it isn't too surprising.
Hey DYRE Hey DYRE Hey DYRE Hey DYRE! Looks like pastel bishonen kings won't be going away for a while.
Also, Aoi Sekai no Chuushin de 2 is out.
I've been watching so many of these Vividred PVs I'm starting to memorize the OP.
Never forgetting that annoying shot at the end despite all the promise...
Yama no Susume does look good.
YES!... Wait... a region locked console
Goddamnit Lazuli, stop having things that I want...

Also, I didn't even know there was a Takamina theme.
@GMH: Gods that's beautiful. Though I'm associating it more with the second verse of the song rather than the first for some reason.

Oh gods.

YES!
In other news, Jojo's studio is doing the Neptunia anime.

I can't remember whether I mentioned this yet (I vaguely feel like I have), but I think that I've finally come to a conclusion as to who my favorite Eureka Seven character is:
Dominic.
Anyway, I think that, when watching a movie like Casablanca or Lawrence of Arabia, I would need to pay more attention and think more intensely about the plot in order to become immersed in it, because it's just culturally more different from myself, than modern shows. I've seen Casablanca twice, and both times were in classrooms, which might explain the lack of appeal because I just didn't get immersed.
Occultic;Nine is the next HeyGuysThisIsWeirdly;Titled series. And it's illustrated by pako of Un-Go, which is why black-haired guy looks exactly like a teenage hipster version of Shinjuuro Yuuki.
Persona 3 is getting more than one movie...
Both of the things you just mentioned excite me.
I'm definitely looking forward to Occultic;Nine, but with the way the Persona 4 anime was done (making the school life parts feel standout-ish instead of being intergrated and removing all the dungeon crawling to make it seem like they were getting new powers just because of their really strong bonds which weren't all that strong due to the mistakes of the source material's social links) I'm kind of on the fence about them adapting Persona 3 (Which is my favorite Megaten game).
Though I did think Trinity Soul was great, so maybe they'll bring back some of that team.
The Persona 4 anime was kind of jilted, but I'm still tentatively hopeful.
More Hisashi Hirai Mecha series! I'm legitimately excited*!
Though I do wonder why people keep hiring hi-

Oh...
*That probably comes off as sarcasm but it's not.
As much as I don't mind chuunibyou being the thing that replaces imouto, I still dislike chuunibyou as a whole concept.
The Aura novel came out before Chu2koi, so if nothing else it's not like it's following a bandwagon or anything (though it's possible that Chu2koi is the reason Aura is getting an anime, I guess).
There is no way they can mess this up there is no way they can mess this up~
I cannot wait!
And a Majestic Prince PV! Spring cannot come soon enough!
Way to make it look like a not hair cutting fetish anime Gokumi.
I finished Linebarrels of Iron and... wow they overused the word "justice".
It wasn't all that impressive of a finale, and what was up with that Dancougar-looking robot near the end?
The new Aura PV shows off a lot of weird stuff and places it firmly in "Light Novels that are kiiiiind of like Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu." But there's some stuff I like in there so I might see it.
I expect no substance from Next Stage, but at least it promises amazing Lives.
Am I allowed to heart Kanata anyway?
Of course.
So my DVD of Uta~Kata freaks out once it get's past episode 3 (Thank you Sentai < ) and I've decided to re-start watching it (watched 1&2) and obtain the rest... somehow.
Was it always this good? The music, the atmosphere, the characters...
Also, GMH, I now understand your love affair with savage genius, that ed!
But there are a couple panty shots here and there (one ironically in a sequence in which the protagonists believe they're about to be sexually assaulted), so I can't give it top marks.
I also watched K's first three episodes and... I loved it, the spectacle, the animation, the colours (yes, the colours must be mentioned) the characters (well, only a couple, but they're awesome) and the best thing about it; it's extremely engaging.
But... I must admit it's not a very good show. Kinda on the mediocre-good end. Also, all the boys are infinitely bishonen and might as well be in Uta-no Prince-sama, so that's a plus.
U~K isn't perfect -- there are the panty shots you mentioned, and there're also a few instances when you have characters doing things in suspiciously perfect alignment (such as both of Ichika's parents raising their heads at the dinner table and then saying something simultaneously). And the faces and eyes really are a bit on the big side even as far as anime goes.
That said, I totally forgot about the panty shots.
...isn't what you're talking about from a late episode?...
/me rewatches episode 2
...oh. That scene.
...I honestly completely forgot that there was a panty shot in it. Two, in fact. I completely forgot they were there.
Just goes to show you how much I cared for them.
Also goes to show just how long ago I watched the first few episodes. I watched them shortly after I finished watching Kiddy Grade, which was...almost four years ago. Time flies...
I do know that there's a scene in one of the later episodes that implies that one of the characters had been sexually abused as a young child, but there's no panty shot in that scene (I just checked).
Panty Shots means it is bad?
Didn't know that
Unless it's ecchi or hentai or something (or used for a good joke, I guess, and even then it's probably easy enough to sidestep around actually showing it most of the time).
But SZS has one in every chapter and it is my favourite manga
Particularly when it's done for no other reason than titillation, yes. But, an important qualifier:
No, it doesn't. At least not inherently. Some people don't like them though, which is understandable enough, and a lot of the time when they show up in more "serious" scenes, they can be distracting at best, offensive at worst, unless it's something ridiculous like Strike Witches where they're so prevalent you basically stop even noticing them.
I mean, GMH is also listing this:
as a bad thing, so...
Without going on another rage-fueled rant. Yes, it's really creepy, even more so than regular fanservice.
I think it's only especially creepy if you think of its privacy-invading implications, and as far as I've heard people who like panty shots don't necessarily think of that. So YMMV on whether it's "normal" bad or "special" bad.
^^ I don't think the art style being a bit unsatisfactory is on the same level as panty shots.
