I didn't really notice that the faces were big, in fact I think the art style is really cute.
So Jesus and Buddha like to hang out with moe girls and car-mech pilots at new years... (Another thing, why are the tsuritama MCs in this? Are they getting another cour soon?)
I'd say I don't really know, but I'm leaning towards "normal" bad also watched K in succession (Where the main female protagonist wears nothing because of the usual stupid "I'm a cat and human culture doesn't apply to me!" thing) so my judgement might've been affected.
So, in SAO 19 and 20 Kirito:
So I'm pretty sure that any complaint level against this series has a 99% percent chance of being true.
And Asuna finally managed to get out of her cell (Which is stupidly designed, why is there a keypad IN A VIRTUAL WORLD? Can't you just use a tiny bit of authentication code you idiotic villain?)
^Yeah I can tell you this, you're not even at the worst part yet.
So, I finally started watching Kemonozume.
Predictably, I'm enjoying it, but I don't quite know what to make of the cast. While the performances are solid and likable and the details are certainly interesting, I feel like I'm being consciously denied some important insights into the characters. Of course, Yuasa likes to let his stories unfold in curious fashions, so I expect I'll start to "get it" in due course, but it's strange.
Speaking of which, a lot of people think that the art style to this show is ugly, but I really like it. The atmosphere that it creates is really something, and if you're paying attention, the animation itself is really fluid, if appropriately spasmodic.
This show also sports an absolutely kick-ass opening. Sadly, the animation itself is not on YouTube, but the song is. It is glorious.
P.S. I was going to embed it, but the forum's formatting hates my guts right now...
Ah. Feel the glory...
I made searchings on NND and only found a Touhou parody but it seems to be pretty cool
Apparently, Madoka Magica will be braodcast in Australia, and um... the top of that page tells me:
Oh dear.

Maybe it's mislabeled? I mean, 8:15 pm doesn't sound like a children's timeslot, although I have no clue what kind of programming blocks that channel has. Can anybody from Australia enlighten me as to what 8:15 pm on ABC 3 entails?
AhmahGAHD
And I have no idea what 8:15 on ABC entails.
I tell you what it means.
It means depression rising in the outback
"No rules, just wrong"?
It's not really as dark as Madoka, but a couple of years back they used to air Death Note on primetime on a childrens' channel.
They moved it to the nighttime adults' block after the first couple of episodes, though.
Voltron: Defender of the Universe, followed by Black Panther.
began watching Madoka for real, now.
on ep 4, and with really nothing to say except "wtf, you've got Terry Gilliam in my fight scenes!"
All ANN's "all these moe shows are terrible and you are a bad person for liking them" reviews have done is make me want to watch all the shorts this season.
In other awesome news, Bandai is stealing yet more of my wallet next year, just the way I like it.
Though it'll take a while before I can save up enough money for that >_>
But the shorts this season seem bad.
Well, not really, but still disappointing. Ai Mai Mii's first episode was sort of dumb, as was Boku no Imouto wa Osaka-okan's. Yama no Susume and Mangirl! (which continues to have a very misleading title) had good first episodes but it's still really disappointing that they're only 3 minute shorts instead of full-length series...
What does susume mean?
I heard that was more of a tool to teach people the Osakan dialect or something similar.
I wish Mangirl was full-length, the designs are adorable enough for it (and I honestly assumed it was full length till it aired).
Well, at least Death Note was based on a Shonen manga...
okay...
Anyway, I started watching Symphogear. Only finished episode 3 as of this writingm it's looking pretty good. Although the Noise so far seem really lacking in individuality, but I guess they're meant to be some sort of swarming threat. I hope Hibiki gets attacks beyond hand-to-hand stuff later on. Someone on a bittorrent site described this as "singing mecha Madoka. Dreams coming true". I'm not sure to agree with that, but I am liking Aoi Yuki's voice here.
hahahahahahahahaahahaha
"Noise" and "threat" in the same sentence.
It'd actually be a waste. Not many brawlers in magical girl shows. I think the last was Subaru.
Every Precure ever.
Too focused.
Brawler doesn't mean martial artist; it's more of a 'punch things until they stop moving' thing. Thus, brawlers; brawling.
They can be a threat! Mostly when they Zerg Rush.
She gets a sword, but it's not permanent. I like hand to hand Hibiki, especially considering that as a team the girls cover short(Hibiki)-medium(Tsubasa)-long(Chris) range in fights.
Maybe the dreams coming true part, but all it and Madoka have in common is Aoi Yuuki and Magical Girls.
Symphogear never really feels hopeless, but it does do a great job of developing all three main protagonists. Warning (ending spoiler), ending is kinda rushy and infodumpy (and there are some things left to the databook so some stuff might seem to have come out of the blue).
And I still don't get the mecha thing >_>
Pfft. In order to qualify as a threat, they have to actually legitimately threaten a Symphogear outside of being aided by another Symphogear.
It develops red-hair girl and Tsubasa okay. It gets Hibiki and Chris a little, but not near enough to describe as a 'great job'.
Kanade.
The noise are controlled by a human, so I guess they aren't very threatening on their own since they can't exist on their own.
And they're controlled by the complete relics never Symphogear.
Well, I thought it was pretty well done, especially with Hibiki learning that sometimes it's okay to fight when it comes to protecting your loved ones and most times there will be faces and conscious minds behind attacks and not just instinctive monsters.
Right, here.
Right, but in the cases where humans show up, it's the humans that are the threat and the Noise are wiped out in one blow. When humans don't show up, there's no threat and the Noise are wiped out in one blow (or one series of blows).
Right, but that and learning not to keep secrets from green-haired girl was about the extent of her character development, and she didn't pick up any subtle nuances.
