It's a living manifestation of energy.
The Kyuubi has always been sapient. We've known that from as early as the Chuunin Exam arc, when Naruto confronted it and demanded 'rent'.
Now, he's confronted it and actually learned about what the Kyuubi is.
It's a malevolent force, because it was shaped to be a malevolent force by the events of its life. It may be a force of hatred, but Naruto hopes to change that.
It's pretty silly, but the concept is cool.
Naruto has not changed so much as he has matured.
I would argue that this is a form of character growth.
Compare the Naruto in the later chapters of the manga to the boisterous, overly loud, braggart of a kid he was at the start of the series.
He's gone from the type of person who puts on the facade of an obnoxious prankster to the type of person who actually deals with his sense of loneliness and alienation. He's quieter now, and although he still wants to be Hokage, at this point it's less because of the recognition it will bring him and more because he wants the power to protect his people.
The extreme self loathing is in character too, to the level of refusing to see what Obito has already become? I get he feels bad about Rin's fate but it's kinda overboard.
Kakashi has always hated himself, though. At least, since the events depicted within Kakashi Gaiden.
This self-hatred has only grown since he fought Sasuke.
I mean... everything in Kakashi's life has turned out badly. Everything, with only Naruto turning out somewhat okay through all the bad stuff.
He let Obito die, he let Rin die although he promised to keep her safe, his Sensei died, his father commited suicide, the student who reminds him of himself defected and has become a villain on the level of Orochimaru...
And he has put Obito up on a pedestal ever since his death.
I mean, it feels a bit weird that he still has Obito up on this pedestal. I understand that this is a time when he's under lots of pressure but it still feels a bit odd.
Finally started reading Bokura no Hentai (Which is a manga about crossdressing, homosexuality and transgenderism without any overly smutty stuff in it).
I hardly got into chapter 2 before I started getting emotional. The scene where Yui just grabs Mariko and threatens her is really... moving, from different perspectives for both characters.
I've been looking for a series that treats these topics seriously that wasn't Wandering Son and I think I may have found it. Go Josei!
I did read some of that.
I didn't really like it, but I couldn't figure out why. Maybe it was the whole "crossdressing in an attempt to make a boy notice you" thing, I didn't really like that.
I don't like the ending of Chapter 5, cause it seems like he's taking advantage of a transgendered girl's emotional state. I hope it turns out he was kidding or realizes his mistake or something that's not what he's suggesting.
Parou for me started out a bit weird, then really selfish and kinda dumb during his focus chapter and now my feelings about him depend on what happens with Marika.
I really like Marika and Ryou, I'm interested in seeing the direction Ryou's characterization takes.
I only got up to Chapter 3 before I quit.
After reading all 5 translated chapters, I think it might not be the saving grace I imagined it to be, but I'll keep with it to see how Marika and Ryou develop.
Last time I read any manga with transgender themes was Princess Jellyfish and that was kind of disappointing in terms of it's portrayal of transgender people (It was much better at dealing with the self-confidence issues the protagonist had).
(Insert mandatory Hourou Musuko plug here)
I give you a hamburger.

How far do
This just in, SHAFT will never make another -monogatari adaptation ever again.
Kidding, but Madoka seriously just pulled in a little over a billion yen with two basically re-used footage movies.
Compare that to K-On's (original) movie grossing 1.9 billion. I get there was only one of those, but the Madoka movies are just cut-and-pasted episodes, you have to really consider that.
Going by the opening of Kiddy Girl-and, it seems that they think of Éclair and Lumière as like a super-powerful Cure Black and Cure White.
I think it could be simply that a lot of people like going to the movies instead of watching it in their laptop screens at 3 AM
i mean there's popcorn for one thing. popcorn plus madoka is a winning combo
A laptop screen is okay for me.
But I'd like a better sound system. Maybe.
Late night anime is shown on TV at a reasonable Japanese time (I say reasonable as that is when doramas air too, and they have an impressively wide audience).
Plus, Madoka BDs have been out forever.
Oh, it's ok, but if I could watch everything in a theater screen, then you can bet your ass I would.
^ Still not quite the same experience as watching it on a theater, though.
Plus it could be simply that people didn't manage to watch the whole thing and didn't want to watch reruns when you could be in a theater.
I would pay to see someone playing a whole playthrough of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night in a theater.
Downsides of watching things in a movie theater - especially action movies - dudebros. So many dudebros. How never stop talking, even after the trailers end.
But theaters usually have people in them. People easily annoyed by talking to the screen, or singing along to theme songs or whatever. And like, people who are there.
And god help you if you see a cartoon movie later than 3:00. Then you are guaranteed there will be talkative or crying kids in the theater.
When I went with a group of friends and we saw Snakes on a Plane, we applauded after the m'f'ing snakes on this m'f'ing plane line. We were quickly shushed.
See now that's different. When it's just a popcorn flick, it's okay to go fuck yeah. On the otherhand, I won't forgive the folks at that midnight screening of Avengers who yelled so loud I missed the "Puny god" line.
Don't forget kids who don't seem to understand they should stay in their seats and not roam around the theater giving me scares in the middle of Winnie The Pooh.
Somehow I don't expect dudebros to watch madoka
Delusional Otaku?
