I am disappointed in the lack of burning spirit of youth in your favourite characters.
Rock Lee is cool, but I haven't seen anything with him in it for ages.
"She completed the trio, something that has been pointed out at many, many turns- Naruto mirroring Jiraiya, Sasuke mirroring Orochimaru, and Sakura mirroring Tsunade."
I know. But let's face it, she was never as interesting as Tsunade.
"Rock Lee is cool, but I haven't seen anything with him in it for ages."
Which is pretty terrible and epitomizes, or at least showcases, my disappointment with the series.
She could have been, though. If character development had gone anywhere.
Would've been one hell of an uphill battle, imo.
Well, just look at the difference between pre-timeskip and post-timeskip Naruto. The differences are only minor, but he's certainly matured a fair bit.
Something as simple as Sakura accepting that sometimes things go too far and heading off to kill Sasuke could have been used to develop her character greatly- and it's something that was done, but without the character development following on.
Or it could have been taken in reverse, and created a pathological fear of death and a desire to heal as many people as possible, the same way Tsunade's hemophobia prevented her healing (and Sakura has already healed Karin).
Fuck, I dunno. There's plenty of points where Sakura's character could have started in a direction that would have made her pretty cool, but none of them were ever taken and followed through on.
One Piece Film Z Trailer with Avril Lavigne's cover of "Bad Reputation".
So, I'm watching Kakashi Gaiden at the moment.
For those of you who don't know, it's the backstory of Kakashi, one of the main characters of Naruto.
It's pretty terrible, the stuff that happens in it. The two episodes themselves are great, and you can see how Kakashi goes from the cold, arrogant new Jounin he was to the lazy, constantly tardy, and completely broken man he is in the main series.
But a lot of terrible things happened to Kakashi to make this happen.
I particularly like some of the callbacks to things that happened in the main series.
"I'm about to- die- but- I'll become your eye and- see the future- for you."
That's a pretty great callback to Kakashi's first fight with Zabuza within the series, where he claims to be able to see the future to Zabuza in order to wage psychological warfare upon him (and he used the Sharingan to do it, to boot!).
I just really loved it.
I really liked Young Kakashi's section of Naruto Generations. And he is a fun character to use. Obito is okay too.
But my waifu Ino...
I feel bad for Ino in fanfics. Seems like she exists to be the vapid, gossipy shopaholic. Or Sakura's sex slave. I really ought to do something about that.
Watched the first episode of Mobile Fighter G Gundam at Anime Club. Was it always this bad? :V
^Keep watching and you will eventually come to love the cheesiness.
Wait waht? I am pretty sure it's a good show. Or so I've heard.
It's Imagawa, it's certainly not for everyone...
Except Giant Robo. Anyone who doesn't like it has their opinions on anime immediately invalidated forever.

that way I can comment on AKB0048 when you're not there
alternatively i can stop being lazy and post screenshots here
Just post the dang screenshots here.
Agreed. I can't really expect her to be more important in the show, considering Sakura isn't even important, but I wish she was.
Also, she is one of my favorite characters to use in the games.
Well I posted one screenshot elsewhere, but here[/s]'s the other one. This isn't really that notable other than I was wondering whether that envelope came from Clover Town.

Oh gosh I derped epically with that end tag.
Wow, so Orine's stalker is into Precure too.
...
...
Precure exists in 2048!
Come to think of it, AKB0048's premise actually isn't that far-fetched. The exact premise--a ban on art and music--is silly, but the idea of a ban on certain forms of entertainment is indeed a real thing. Look at, say, Iran, and its ban on western music.
Maybe it started with a ban on music or entertainment in general to increase productivity after the Earth got hit by the major environmental disaster of backstory and then became "tradition"/"normal". The economy had to find a way to compensate for that loss and duh, more work in other areas became the solution.
Eventually, all the planets were running on this and introducing entertainment would have really messed with both the industrialized economy and screwed the rich guys who ran it. So maybe it isn't just 'disturbing the heart' they're after...
Yeah, the setting details seem to imply some sort of gritty, environmentally-bereft society on some planets.
I just hope the second half can go into detail on all this stuff. Especially since they have the perfect set up with Chieri's father and Orine's old job. Maybe Kanata's story can show us the other less well organized guerrilla groups (like the one her father was in) and Linda can show us the remaining more privileged yet environmentally sound planets.
Of course, there is the Center Nova plot too, but the other stuff would be so interesting. I tend to get caught up in worldbuilding like that.
I definitely am more interested in the broader societal/civilization-level setting of AKB0048 rather than the internal group dynamics of the performers.
But, y'know, idols gotta idol and CDs gotta sell.
How far in are you anyways?
6. Chieri had her limelight moment, though I don't think it was properly prepared to have its full potential emotional impact. Also, TakaMina drama.
Probably more relevantly (to AKB0048, not necessarily to anything else), Kabuki was briefly banned in Japan after World War II.
I liked the TakaMina plot, but it might as well have turned her into a main character (At the expense of most of the actual main characters).
Other things for season 2: Explain exactly WHY Mayuyu is a robot.
Dragonball joins the league of anime series that continue in America but not Japan (Beyblade & Bakugan, to name a few).
