  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.

Kami-sama only works within the confines of GALGE!

Not at all. Lain is omnipresent.

    Let's all love Lain.

  • ^^ What are you talking about?  Shinji Ikari never plays galge...

  • I'm a damn twisted person
Challenge mode - moeify Darkseid's Anti-Life speech from Final Crisis. And don't change the subject matter at all. Still all about enslaving your mind, crushing your body and murdering your soul and Duing for Darkseid.

You have a limit of four suffixes. Go go go.

  • enslaving your mind, crushing your body and murdering your soul

Sadism is pretty moe too, you know.

  • I'm a damn twisted person
Kinda hard to infantilize Darkseid though. He is a walking slab of concrete and hate.
  • Hm... Darkseid is big and muscular, bald, with dark gray skin...

So Darkseid-tan would be a girl with big boobs, with a prominent forehead and tan skin.  See, she sounds totally moe.  People would be lining up to be her husbando.

And being hateful doesn't mean you can't be moe.  Otaku are all masochists anyway, and one of the most popular moe girls ever (Asuka Langley Soryu, of course) sincerely hated everyone.

  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

How the heck do you say Darkseid's name anyway?  "Darkside"?

Also, I think Asuka is popular because once you know her backstory she's a very sympathetic character.

...or maybe I'm totally wrong and otaku are masochists.

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!

    The cartoons just say Darkside.

Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

^^There's a CD floating around that's nothing but a stereotypical Tsundere yelling at you.

    Yeah, Otaku are masochists.

    Also, yeah it's pronounced "Darkside".

  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

For some reason I mentally pronounce it as "dark-SIDE?".  Like, pronounce "side" with a South-Asian English accent, and stressed compared to "dark".  And at a higher pitch.

What does it being on Crunchyroll have to do with a DVD/BD release?

  • There is love everywhere, I already know

Aniplex has licensed them, which means that there's officially a release in the future since Aniplex just doesn't do streaming licensing (Which, for all three shows, belongs to Crunchyroll anyways).

Basically, Aniplex of America is like NIS but with semi-Japanese prices and no exports for anybody not in North America.

  • semi-Japanese prices

    Not even close.

They still are the most expensive US licensor at the moment. Noticeably so.

Then again, those nice Madoka boxes for just $80...

  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.

Heretics! There is only one Kami-sama! Keima! The god of conquest!

  • But Kaminomi was terrible and also Keima isn't much of a god.

  • One foot in front of the other, every day.

    Kami-sama

And now I'm thinking of a moe Catholic church, moe knightly orders and stuff. It's pretty terrible, but kind of neat.

  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.
But Kaminomi was terrible and also Keima isn't much of a god.

Says you, unbeliever. Nah, the anime was an okay adaptation, it made the mistake of focusing too much on the girls  when the main draw is Keima and his antics. The manga's pretty neat.

  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

^The premise is that a guy has to excise demons from various girls souls by making them fall in love with him.

    It's fucking PUA the manga.

  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.

You say as if he hasn't been bit in the ass for that.

  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

You say as if that makes up for it.

  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.

Makes up for what? It's a manga that pokes fun at romance game logic, it's not some PUA manual for dummies.

    Here, There, Everywhere

Every mention of exorcists in relation to anime makes me want to to immediately scream, "Watch Mononoke! Watch Mushishi! Do it now!"

  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.

    MUSHISHI! Ginko be bitchin'

  • JHMJHM
    Here, There, Everywhere

    Indeed. Such a beautiful programme.

yea i make potions if ya know what i mean

The Tsundere CD is pretty hilarious in of itself. That there are fandubs of it is much, much funnier though.

Also I imagine it might work well as a sampling source. Depends on what in particular is being said.

    also

     Let's all love Lain.

On haruhi.net I used to have a banner with a picture of Lain and Haruhi Suzumiya standing next to each other with the word "syncretist" underneath it.

    Fun times.

But you never had any to begin with.

Watched the first episode of Psycho-Pass. It wasn't great, being ludicrously exposition heavy, and heavy handed with it, but I'll still give it the three-episode test. However, I am uneasy about the possibility of it pulling the rape (not a huge spoiler, but still) stuff again.

  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

^I was going to post the exact same thing. I wanted to like it, but now I'm not so sure...
