    Lucifer is dead and a war has broken out between various evil gods of various pantheons (some from genuine mythology, others that are totally made up) to decide who gets to become the new Prince of Darkness.

    That happened in The Sandman. Although Lucifer didn't die, he just gave up running Hell, and they weren't evil gods so much.

    Kraken: I'd probably twist some figures to fit the purpose of the story, and I will probably throw in a few non-evil Gods who are competing for different reasons. Some because they think Prince of Darkness could be a useful position, others because they want to stop any and all Princes from rising.

    On a related note, as part of preparation I just saw Thor, which was...kinda disappointing. I mean, it wasn't bad, but I have to say I found it probably the weakest out of the Marvel movieverse. (Though I haven't seen Captain America yet, which on one hand got better reviews and on the other...is about Captain America.)

    oi, Captain America (The hero) is awesome. The movie...I liked it quite a bit, but it's definetly sort of generic. 


    And yeah, Thor is fun, but lacking.

    @Juan: Eh, maybe I'm too hard on him, but he reminds me far too much of that sort of AMERICA FUCK YEAH type of patriotism which simply cannot be taken seriously. I'm willing to believe that his movie and/or The Avengers will convince me otherwise but currently my impression of him is that he's kinda lame.

    The thing I dislike about ASOIAF's version of Catholicism is that it's not actually as awesome as Catholicism. For instance, it lacks organs, gothic cathedrals. incense, cool hats, the Spanish Inquisition and orders of knights.
