  • Ouch, that's really unfortunate. My room was where I went last family party, too.

But yeah, family parties aren't as fun as parties with friends. The exception is when it's like a birthday party or graduation party and has both, because the more people there are, the more presents you get! XD

yeah but I don't have friends

The problem is when your friends have family parties and such to attend, too.
  • What happened to Legionnaire?

@stormtroper: The only friend I would want to party on New Years with (read: my only friend who drinks) is technically family anyway, but he ditched us to party with I dont even know who.

    ^^

So I went into the city with my family (some of whom were over from Perth) to see the New Year's celebration.

    As
my cousin put it, it was eleven hours of waiting (I killed a few of
them by playing Final Fantasy and walking, unlike everyone else who just
lay there for most of it) for 12 minutes of fucking fireworks. I
haven't been impressed by fireworks since I was 12. This was followed up
by about two fucking hours trying to get into Wynyard station to get on
the train to go home, since the jackboots who run the place have no
idea how to handle crowds. Thank god the police turned up when they did,
because the crowd (I'm not kidding when I say there were probably over
20,000 people on that street, and at least 5,000 in that crowd alone)
    was starting to get nasty.

The whole thing was a colossal fucking waste of time, made significantly worse by the fact that I missed my boyfriend on one of the few times he gets spare these days.

    Now to find a job.

    No I don't.

    You even said so yourself.
  • a little muffled
fuck it, drinking more doresnt make family party more toleradble

staying here until i change my mind agin
  • You even said so yourself.
    You can't prove I did.
and I hope that that's not how it usually happens
From what I hear Wynyard is always like that on New Year's, it being the main station for the CBD and the city of Sydney in general. They should know better. It's usually better most of the year.
  • Happy new year, everyone!
  • I still have around 3 hours until new years, god damn time zones.
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.

Oh hey yeah it's 2012 now.

Which means I can start being excited for the Strike Witches movie now?  (though it's not like it'll really be possible to watch it until after the summer because having to wait for BDs)

  • Has friends besides tanks now
Finished Let Me In. That was . . . quite something. For the most part, I liked it, though.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
    Would you recommend it?

    Has friends besides tanks now
Seeing as how you've seen the movie already, I'll spare the "why" of it (especially in the event that others want to read/watch it), but yes; I would definitely recommend it, unless you have a total hateboner for poor translations.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
    I like the haruhi books....
  • Has friends besides tanks now
Right. Forgot about that. I read the first one, but I don't remember much of it. Was it that bad?

In that's the case, though, go for it.

Man, Re:Chain of Memories is hard to get the hang of. I'm quickly learning you need to look more at the bottom of the screen where the cards are than anything else at all.

  • Ica, what does the forum say about the number of posts in this thread?

Had a rarher heavy discussion with my cousin. She seems to think I'm a better person than I am.

    Belief
Tell her she's biased and would need examination from a third party before drawing conclusions that don't even have a solid ground to stand on.

    A better person? why?

Does she donate to charity while raising 2 dozen orphan child and volunteer at the soup kitchen in her off-time when she isn't a low-paid nurse that has to fill in for the lazy obese doctor?

If she is what I just described, I agree with her.

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Stop fucking applying logic to my pity party >_>

One foot in front of the other, every day.
    Counterclock: 1
    Malk: 0

But seriously, Malk, you're likely too hard on yourself. Others might value traits you don't value in yourself. A trait that may have result X may also have result Y; X may be something you hate, but others might love Y. Happens all the time.

Of course, this works both ways. Someone annoyed at your result X might want you to change that trait at the time, while forgetting that it also nets result Y.

Personal progression is a slow and tedious thing, but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
  • You can change. You can.
Booooring party. Happy new year, etc.

Also, i never realized how fucked up my mom's family was.

Seeing your 19 year old cousin with a baby on her lap is a rather sobering experience.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Starting tomorrow, dad wants me to spend 9-5 every day looking for a job. Fortunately, mom agrees with me that that's just dumb.

...job counselors will tell you that the job search process should be treated as a job in itself. Even if you're still planning on going back to school, you need to put some effort into that.
