I just use a walkthrough.
It's still annoying, but not painfully so.
It is one of the worst parts of the game.
It is not exactly all that bad, but it is annoying, and not in the 'this requires precise skills' way, but in the 'if you fuck up it doesn't break anything and it's not hard to undo it it just takes way too long' way. Which is the worst way outside of 'you lose everything and have to restart the level' way. and most of the other ways, but still.
Keep in mind that this is the person who died to King Dodongo at least twice with the Lon Lon Milk.
So my terrible skills might have something to do with it.
No, it's really just because the Water Temple is horrible and tedious and not a single second of it is any fun.
Fortunately, everything after it is cool.
i.e. annoying.
I liked the boss battle, and Dark Link was pretty cool.
I think I thought Dark Link was cool, but I don't actually remember having much fun fighting him. Can't really remember the boss well enough to judge, I guess.
He was kind of a boss who went down without me really figuring out what I was supposed to do to defeat him, so he wasn't that memorable.
Still Spirit Temple is best in gameplay and Forest Temple is best in atmosphere.

From what I have played of the 3DS remake, the Water Temple there is easier for two reasons. One, they tell you where to find the water leveling signs, and two, they made the Iron Boots an item rather than equipment, so you can switch them on and off like in Twilight Princess. It can still be a hassle, but it's less mind-numbingly hard than in the N64 version. The Master Quest version is even easier, and that's supposed to be the hard mode of the remake.

So...if this is the case, the next Xbox may have all the drawbacks of a PC with none of the advantages.
The Water Temple was tedious enough that I ended up just mapping my progress on my own.
I hate the Forest Temple for being dark enough to have me running round in circles for hours because I didn't notice a ladder in a tiny alcove. :<
Oh god I thought I was the only one.
The Forest Temple was pretty annoying at points (way too easy to miss one minor thing and just have to check every damn room until you figure out what it is), but it had atmosphere, which is, I think, what sets it apart from the Water Temple, which just didn't really have anything interesting except the miniboss and boss.
http://penny-arcade.com/report/editorial-article/the-reality-of-the-ouya-console-doesnt-match-the-hype-why-you-should-be-ske
This pretty much summarizes why I'm not donating to the OUYA Kickstarter. It could be a console worth buying, or it could be this generation's Virtual Boy -- or worse, this generation's Phantom.
Yes, doubleposting, but I had something to post, so I'm posting it.
Skyrim is one of the most-wanted games for the OUYA.
Yes, people apparently think there's a chance of Skyrim being released for free on a device designed for Android games.
I wanted to make some sort of joke, but I really can't think of any way to make that funnier.
The real joke is that people actually want to play Skyrim.
(lololol i so funny lololololololol)
When I was a kid, I dreamed of programming Super Mario RPG to work on a TI-89.
Whoa. I looked at the source of that info, and realized that the makers of the OUYA were actually presenting it as a possibility. While I initially thought the scam-crappy product-good product percentages were something like 10-45-45, I'm now leaning closer to 60-20-20.
The games being free is the whole idea of the console, AFAIK.
I could see Daggerfall being on OUYA, but Skyrim? Really?
^^The publicity on it is inconsistent on all sorts of stuff (like advertising that Minecraft will be a launch title despite the developers of Minecraft being unaware of this), so I can't say I know for sure.
@ XBOX720 hardware upscaling:
So when are the Microsoft 128X and Microsoft Blue-Ray going to be released for the system?
Holy hell, Spiral Corridor is hard, even on Easy. There's always one step too little for me to finish a staircase to the second checkpoint. DX< (Catherine again)
Why do people keep repeating this? It was a rumor and it's been squashed several times.
The games are not free. You have to pay for them like you do with any other console.
The only stipulation is that the people providing the game have to provide some kind of "free" content to go along with it. Generally speaking, they have to provide a demo.
I seriously hate how skeptical everyone is of this. It's an epidemic of people being too scared to be let down to ever put their faith in anything.
