I just restarted my SS file.
It...feels as if...
I'll miss you, Gengar.
^ You could have traded it to one of us for safe keeping, you know =/
FFFFFFFF-
I'm well into my first file on HeartGold. Anyone interesting in trading for a Growlithe level 1 with Heat Wave and Flare Blitz, a Vulpix level 1 with Heat Wave, Flare Blitz, and Extrasensory, and a Pichu level 1 with Volt Tackle?
Bumping because Black and White 2 is released!
Picked Snivy because I chose Tepig and Oshawott last time. Trying to catch every new Pokemon I see.
Plan to catch me a Koffing in here. :V
I caught a shiny Audino today
Got a Critical Hit slash on her
And a Critical Capture using a Repeat Ball
It was a...
Critical Success
So, got a Magnemite. I plan to get a Magby and Koffing as well. And I actually want to use these guys for my team.
I have a Snivy, Lillipup and Riolu on hand. So which of these three should I add to my team? I'm normally trying to go for Pokemon I normally don't use for some variety.
SNIVY
SNIVYSNIVYSNIVY
SNIVY
Oh, I misread the post
Magby would provide better coverage than Magnemite or Koffing
I want to use either Genesect or Keldeo. Not sure which. So do I ditch Azurill for Keldeo and ditch Genesect for a different bug type (I already have Riolu for an eventual Steel type), or keep Genesect and Azurill?
...Why not use Genesect /and/ Keldeo?
Maybe he thinks that two legendaries in one team=overkill?
Lai: DUMP SNIVY RIOLU ROX
Lolno.
^Why not? I found my White playthrough much more enjoyable when I wasn't tied down by my starter.
Not the most logical reason, but it's a reason.
That's why you dump it at the beginning, and immediately use something else.
At least, that's what I'm planning when I get White 2.
Also tried using the Emerald Randomizer ,but it won't work.
Eh, it's just the way I play.
And my Riolu evolved already.
Somehow I thought it would take longer than that.
Keldeo and Genesect are both OU, on Smogon anyhow. Genesect might end up Uber yet; Keldeo is pretty fair though.
@Icalasari: Do they play 6v6 singles or what? If they do, I can't imagine it being all that different...
@ All Nines: It's fine to have different priorities than them, but I fail to see how trying to avoid an overly complicate banlist is so terrible.
Yeah but you can play gimmicky sets on Smogon too. You'll probably just lose...
If their banlists are more extensive that might make it more fun, but eh.
Competitive play necessitates complexity in some ways, and so I don't see what it avails them to make sweeping rules changes like they do. Banning Swift Swim + Drizzle was a step in the right direction, and so when they restrict all Blaziken sets to Ubers, it kind of puzzles me.
Basically, no moves are banned (so have fun dealing with Double Team and Horn Drill)
They have one Ubers tier and two OU tier variants. Essentially, Smogon focuses on compartimalizing Pokemon based on strength to make them all viable, while Japan is more, "Every Pokemon has a counter. Have fun trying to find it!"
@ All Nine: The difference is that banning Drizzle completely and allowing Drizzle + SS were both deemed to be unacceptable. Drizzle + SS was broken, but rain was a huge part of the meta and it was feared that banning rain would cause an unbalance leading to all the weathers being banned. Aldaron's Proposal was meant to be a rare exception for when there's no other way to do it. Fact is, the OU metagame -- even the UU metagame -- isn't really suffering from Blaze Blaziken being banned.
On the other hand, Smogon's tier system is currently quite simple, and there are no cases of a Pokémon being in two tiers at once. You'd pretty much have to completely overhaul the whole thing to allow Pokémon + Ability combinations to be tiered instead of individual Pokémon. (And does it only apply to banlist tiers, or like, should Synchronize Alakazam be allowed in UU?)
I'm not saying they're right, necessarily, but they have very good reasons for taking the position they do.
@Icalasari: Yeah that seems way worse tbh.
I'm not surprised they did this, I am surprised they took this long.
