I don't know if I should rage at this or be glad that they're taking the time to do this properly.
Anyways, next season has Symphogear and Gatchaman so it's already a winner, even if some of the other shows I plan on watching don't turn out great.
1. I like this song (Fafner's Shangri-La) more than the other song of the same name (Corpse Party's Shangri-La).
2. It appears that she doesn't escape her fate, even in the remake. Hm. Time to dream more of my expy getting revenge.
(version with lyrics and official music video: )
I think it worked so well because it was genuinely just a massive episode of AIkatsu! that took "This is when we really say goodbye to Ichigo as our protagonist" to heart. But I also understand why the format of this year's movie will be entirely centered on performances, since it's not a PreCure movie where they can have a standalone series of fight sequences since the episode format of Aikatsu! isn't exactly built for expansion (to make it work there were a lot of threads that came together).
Summer's gonna have me picking up Prison School and Monmusu. I'm kinda dedicated to their manga adaptations, so I'll either be underwhelmed or extremely pleased.
I'm hipster so I'll say that I read Prison School before it was popular. :DDDD It's main selling point is the discrepancy between the really serious (and gorgeous) art style and what's actually going on at that moment. It's hilarious. It's the most well thought out ecchi series that I've read.
For example, instead of having the standard beam of white blocking out the privates of a girl, they'd draw a ridiculously well-drawn Medusa face in its place. The principal, who's one of the most serious looking manga characters out there, spends an entire chapter setting up a very gloomy ceremony for the burning of his pornography.
Though, it's because of the really good art that I think the show will be hard-pressed in matching quality.
Monmusu' on my list because Monster. I've been immersed in the monstergirl world for a while now. Even if it's mindless ecchi, at least it's unique mindless ecchi. :^)
I will say that those
fivethree shows are definitely somewhere in the following list of shows, though -- a list that I threw up because there was some sort of meme on HB about making a list of ten shows you want to watch but haven't yet watched:* Angel Beats
*
Arpeggio of Blue Steel (movie)Akame ga Kill* Atelier Escha & Logy
* Casshern Sins
* Guilty Crown
* Halo Legends
* Heartcatch Pretty Cure
* Solty Rei
* Steins;Gate
* Yuuki Yuuna is a Hero
Now you can pretty safely scratch off Arpeggio of Blue Steel from the list of potential identities of the mystery shows because it doesn't exactly have "episodes". On the other hand, throw in Akame ga Kill, because it actually is something I've already started watching. Alternatively, throw out both that and Yuuki Yuuna because I've actually already listed myself as having seen three and one episode of them, respectively...or maybe they're Mystery Shows C and B respectively? Who knows.
But yeah, the reason for this is because, okay, let's be honest, people have some pretty negative opinions of certain shows on this list. Yes, I'm talking about Guilty Crown, and to a lesser extent Angel Beats and Akame ga Kill. I've found it a little tiring to have my experiences of watching shows very much colored by knowing what other people think of them, which is probably part of the reason I sometimes watch obscure stuff. Though in this case it's a little late for that since, y'know, I already know what people think of Guilty Crown, for example. But maybe it can help a bit to keep people from reminding me of what opinions I "should" have.
On the other hand, though, calling them Mystery Shows for the purpose of keeping a log of my watching for my own future reference (but a log which also publicly visible) has made it very tempting to tease people about what they are. So, yeah, I guess, if you want, I can consider dropping some hints. In fact, I kinda already have, on HB.
And in any case, in what's a very typical result of making a list, I just found myself watching stuff that wasn't on the list a couple nights ago. Was cleaning a computer keyboard, so I started watching random shit, including an episode of Mikagura School Suite, whatever that is.
Also suddenly I feel like watching Spice & Wolf.
I wonder if making a list of anime you're looking forward to that don't have confirmed air dates yet is a thing because I now have one that is over five shows long.
I also started Game of Laplace, which is what I think i've been waiting for Lerche to make ever since I could tell what their style was. I am beyond in love with it.

So far...
Didn't need the help:
Nanjo Yoshino (Beyond successful recent album release /tries hardest not to say "fripSide-BEST")
Uchida Aya (Funny thing; Nanjo Yoshino's debut album and her second album came out in the same week earlier this year, Yoshino's did slightly better that week and had a massive tail)
Tokui Sora (Though not exactly a sales queen, she's in Milky Holmes and is a Bushiroad music darling as a result)
Mimori Suzuko (Yet more Milky Holmes, and under PonyCan she's been a solo artist longer than any of her fellow μ's)
Doing well:
Iida Riho (One album a few months ago that was "Didn't need help" worthy, even ahead of Tokui Sora, which was pretty great for an apparent re-debut)
Doing well for now:
Nitta Emi (Under Bushiroad Music no less, now that's MC power)
Pile (Successful-ish album release, middling sales sort of)
Ouch:
Kubo Yurika (One album that... erm... good luck with the modelling?)
TBA:
Kusuda Aina (Go Nozomi Go!)
2. I never knew that "eschatology" was pronounced with a "k" sound for the "ch".
3. Escha's tail appears to not be part of her body but actually an accessory attached to her belt. It appears to be an empathically-powered device. Probably another alchemical creation.
4. Interesting, this alchemy practice seems to be a matriarchal tradition. I wonder if the children in this setting take their surnames from their mothers too.
5. If they've been at this for hundreds of years, that's a lot of groundwater they'd have to have pumped into that orchard to keep it going. Either there's a huge reservoir beneath their town or the wasteland just outside it, or it somehow gets recharged (how? I'm not sure). Maybe I could make some basic hydrological guesstimates as to how the water cycle works in this setting if I had a map...
Gladly, the protagonists came up with a much better solution than that.
Also GMH stop making me want to watch it right now ;-;
I really enjoy that while that premise sounds kind of like Uta~Kata it's very much the lighter side of things so it's a lot of cute moments and people being electrocuted with no consequences aside from a visit to the nurse's office. It's also adorable shoujo all the way.
The OP also really reminds me of Uta~Kata's OP, in that it's a more mature voice with a lot of elongated notes (it's performed by the three-person band can/goo, who are apparently sort of still musicians).
