  • I just assume every site has a forum.

And then I change my mind if I look for it and can't find it, but still I think of having a forum as the default.
  • I can't imagine a site not having a forum.

I would probably prefer it built up from scratch, like TvTropes' forum. I loved its design.

The relatively small forum is probably because not a lot of wiki-side people even seem to know there's a forum.

I knew there were forums since being a n00b, but I just sort of assumed it wasn't very relevant to how the wiki runs, or that it had anything to make it stand out among general-purpose forums and thus never bothered with them. Maybe other people think this, too?
  • Because you never know what you might see.
Well, I know that some people see them the same way as all the backstage stuff on Wikipedia, like the Arbcom and that, which normal editors don't care about.

And I know that some people (*cough*#tropers*cough*) just don't like the forums because they think they're full of idiots.

Foobar2000 seems OK.  I don't like how it's sorted everything into separate artist names depending on who's featured on each track, but I expect I'll get used to it.
  • Why did I laugh at the big black part of SMJ?
  • Because you never know what you might see.
It's no laughing matter; that's a continually expanding black hole, and unless Eddie can pull some mad CSS magic fast, it'll swallow the whole wiki, and then maybe the whole Internet.

I try not to look at it for too long.  It gives me the creeps.

@Khwarizmi: Yeah, that kinda bugs me as well. Banshee does the same thing, unfortunately. It (Banshee) is still the best media player I've ever used, though.

Now if the Windows version would just reach a stage where it's actually usable...

Why is Google Chrome being advertised if it's free?

Isn't that kind of a waste of money?
  • a little muffled
Because Chrome's reason for existence isn't to make Google money, but to make people stop using IE.

Because you never know what you might see.
    I shoulda cropped those screenshots, shouldn't I?

I downloaded Chrome, but I dunno, I never warmed to it.  I like Firefox better.

    Same here.
  • I used Firefox till I got banned, then I used Chrome.
  • Chrome feels faster, don't know if it actually is though. The porn mode is definitely a plus.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
    The what?

    Private browsing, you mean?
  • The Sonic Series Wiki Curator of TvTropes
    Incognito Mode, actually.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
Aw.  If Google had actually had the balls to call it the "porn mode", I'd have been impressed.
  • "Conversation staters" "English Conversations" "Learn To Speak French" "TalkTalk Just 3.49 euros" "How To Keep A Man In Love"

Now I really want to know what's being talked about in there.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
We cyber.  In French.  That's why it's private.
  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.
    You speak french?
  • Because you never know what you might see.
    Franglais.

Voulez-vous parler Franglais avec moi, ce soir?
  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.
    Nyet.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
    Aw.  J'ai été rejetée. :(
  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.
And what are those titles that stormtroper referenced?

    Okay...

@thatguythere47: Firefox has a porn mode, too.
  • Firefox's porn mode is useless, though--to me, at least--because you can't have a private browsing window and a not-private-browsing window open at the same time.

Internet Explorer has a "Porn Mode", as well. Well, not that I'd personally have any use for it, but there you go.
  • Poot dispenser here
I never use Private Browsing mode. /likeyouneededtoknowthis
  • I use the private browsing mode mainly for sockpuppeting on TVTropes, honestly, so I don't have to log in and out of Central Avenue when I want to post as a pony.
