  • The problem is that I would have to drop everything about my old self. I can't talk about my touhou fanfic, diapers, II would have to act like he didn't know me....I couldn't post in jammies.....it just wouldn't be the same.

Because you never know what you might see.
If you're already suspected of being a ban evader, you do tend to be under closer scrutiny, though.  I.E. you probably wouldn't get away with going into a thread and kicking up a fuss about how atheists are like Hitler or how Europe is a socialist hellhole or whatever.

    >Not a good sign. Eventually TV Tropes will inherit the "everyone is fucking dead" administration style that I experienced on Gaiaonline, as a GD moderator and as somebody who got banned, where if there is even a sliver of drama or problems you get axed and nuked from the site.

    I seriously doubt it.

infinity blaze talked about himself ALL OF THE TIME
blaze, killa, blue fire and mount fire were all whiny highschoolers with no avatars
cold friction was a whiny highschooler with an avatar and complained about banjo kazooie and pokemon
  • Well, I wouldn't do that....

Are you saying that I could go back on, and just be a lot more civil and respectful, and I wouldn't be banned?
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
    Ban evasion?

    Nope. Appeal then return.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
No, Chagen, you're not allowed back on TV Tropes.  If I find out you're there, I'm reporting you.

Vorpy's suggestion is worth a shot, I think, before you try anything more drastic.  No guarantees, mind.
  • I really can't imagine why I got a google ban. I can't even remember having edited the wiki, except posting a pikmin WMG. Maybe I just hit all the warning signs for a serial ban evader.

"basically telling a person that there is nothning redeeming about their presence on the site"

Bobby G told me FE said almost that exact same thing! Are you psychic?

You know, asking Bobby if it's ok to ban evade if you're not noticed is basically like asking a cop if it's ok to smoke weed as long as you do it where he/she can't see.

(Also, I mentally substitute the name "Khwarizmi" for "Bobby G", sorry.)
  • Bobby G is easier to spell.
  • I still can't spell Kzaharmisizi.

i type @Kw, push tab, and it autofinishes it for me

  • For me it's not the spelling or copy-pasting as much as the fact that I haven't a clue how to pronounce it, so my mind just says "Bobby" instead.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
I just pronounce it as written, as if it was an English word.

I pronounce it quar (like the "qua" from "quantity" only with an "r" sound at the end)-is-me.

^ Ah, see, now I can kinda turn off my mental wordfilter.

And somehow that helps me remember how to spell it, too.
  • ^^I have always done that.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
I've always pronounced it the same way DYRE does, which is the way I've heard it said IRL.  Believe it or not, it's not just a nonsense word, so it presumably has a correct pronunciation.
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
    Qwar - Is - Me
  • Vorpy: Someone else appealed for me, and Fighteer was all "LOL NO". So that's kinda out of the question.
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
Give it a couple months, and use this place as a proving ground to show you aren't going to do the same shit again.

Show your penance and guilt, and show you want to change.

  • «Believe it or not, it's not just a nonsense word, so it presumably has a correct pronunciation.»
On the other hand, we don't really know what Ancient Persian sounded like.

    a little muffled
    "I seriously doubt it."

I honestly don't. As long as Fast Eddie keeps doing what he's doing and just banning people who bug him without explaining his reasoning to anyone, that looks to be the direction we're going in. This thread is a perfect demonstration of the problem: here we have a user who was banned after being a well-liked member of the community for a long time, and a mod who didn't even know the user in question was under consideration for banning.

Honestly, the deletion of IJBM might have been a good thing in the end because it led to the creation of this place, which has most of the cool people from TV Tropes but with sane moderation.
  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.
I read it as Kuarrizmi, with a real r, not that mockery you anglophones cal an r. ROLL YOUR TONGUES, motherf-
  • I read it as "Kwar-zimi".

And this is an odd derail.
  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.
The best derail ever was Blowjobs->Linguistics.
  • Was that in Old-IJBM or New-IJBM?
