ITP: Permabanned member brings attention to the one flaw with this whole problem solution process.
  • Yeah, that sounds good.  Also, mention the type of thump, or allow the mods to highlight exactly what the problem was.  No sense in letting people try to figure it out when you can hit them in the head with a brick of awareness.
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
I should make an example on Photoshoppu while I can
  • Because you never know what you might see.
Well, I copypasted that idea to the mod board.  No responses as yet.
  • I really want to see the mod board, for no other reason than the Forbidden Fruit factor.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I believe around the time I first joined the forum, someone posted a link to it. Of course, to non-mods, it just displays some message along the lines of "you don't have permission to be here."
  • I did that once, because I wanted to know what was going on there. It sounded so juicy.

Because you never know what you might see.

This is how it shows up on the forum main page, for a mod.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Way to taunt us with the forbidden fruit...
  • God, If only I was a better person and could be a Mod.

Not like I would even like the position anyway--I used to want to be one on other forums for the power it gave me, but then I realized that it wasn't that much power and I'm too lazy to be a good mod.

The only way I would ever be a mod is on a forum I made myself. And even then, being the admin, I would just assign others the position and have them do the dirty work.
  • Ew, Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player.
  • I'd like to be a mod somewhere, but I'm not sure why.
  • There's nothing wrong with WMP.

There are many things wrong with IE, though.

He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.
    Supersecret mod jaberings? That's...original?

I like to imagine the mods as Angels, with SMJ being a massive heaven-like church, and Eddie as the Omniscient and Omnipotent God over-looking all. With TvTropes being a massive country below. Banned people go to purgatory (temp) or hell (perma).

The religious symbolism is just plain cool.

Because you never know what you might see.
I don't use IE anymore, I've just never unpinned it for some reason.

Windows Media Player... eh.  I don't like it very much because it seems fairly limited, but for the most part it does what I want it to do and I'm too lazy to try anything else.

Hollers, in context on the board (other discussions censored because it's supposed to be private).

  • It's like seeing the face of God.
  • I bet at least one of those is talking about me. And how the mods hate me.

I really should have made a better impression on the forum. I need to stop spouting my dad's quite often misguided/flawed beliefs (there are times where I didn't even believe what I said, I just did it because my dad conditioned me to say these things in these situations).

    I use CCCP/MPC-HC, myself.

(Also, threads from Supersecret Mod Jabberings show up in the forum search results. Clicking on them produces the "Sorry, this discussion is private" message.)
  • I remember them having one about Autarch once.
  • I use CCCP/MPC-HC, myself.

    This. Well, for videos.

    For audio I use foobar2000.

    a little muffled
I use foobar2000 as well. It's okay, but I miss Banshee on Linux.

Oh hey, the Windows version of Banshee is out in alpha now. Good to know it's going somewhere.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
There is no Chagen thread in SMJ, although as you're aware, your name came up in Hollers a lot.

    I don't know what CCCP/MPC-HC or foobar2000 are.  Guess I'll investigate them.
  • I guess I'm not used to how often people report.

I'm used to forums where I could do things that would get my google bounced instantly on TvTropes. You should see me on Serebii...no, don't. I was a closeted homophobic jerkass who refused to accept criticism of any kind and thought that I could win solely by yelling obscenities at people and screaming all the time. I had no redeeming qualities at all, besides some okay fanfics. How I survived on that forum when I got reported every day (sometimes multiple times a day), I have no idea.

I'm pretty sure the only reason I survived was that Serebii was massive, so I blended in and couldn't stand out much. Serebii was like a big coporate party where you could dissappear easily, TvTropes is more like a high school from a small town where everyone knows everyone.

Because you never know what you might see.
That sounds like a pretty good analogy.  I know people sometimes talk about how TV Tropes is a big site, but I don't think there are all that many regular forumites, not compared to the number of Known Tropers as a whole, let alone the number of people reading the site.  The number of forumites probably is pretty close to that of the population of a small town high school.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
The relatively small forum is probably because not a lot of wiki-side people even seem to know there's a forum.
  • TvTropes does seem to have a lot of members, but then I realized that most of the time, I communicated with only about 100. Even though I was in the middle, left, and right sides. Though, there are the people who only post in very specific places I don't go to.

Because you never know what you might see.
^^ I always found that perplexing.  I mean, it's at the top of every page.
  • ^ Yeah, I wondered how they could not notice.

I browsed for about a month, then I noticed the forum button and I was all "Hey cool".
