The darkness abated, fluctuating slightly.
When it came back in full force, it seemed almost petulant.
The darkness wrapped around Charles and Snow, squeezing them tightly, almost crushing them.
Seeing the spider moving towards Carrie, Jackie pushed the dead Pokemon out of her thoughts just long enough to move towards it and try to kick it.
(Would the previous post I made count as just having not made a move yet, or temporal inaction? If the latter, I can baleet this post)
Snow screamed in fear. Charles called her back to her ball and looked around, confused. "The hell? Look, whoever you are, we didn't mean to intrude. We just... We need to get back to camp, alright?"
Charles began to freak out himself
(Not having made a move yet, I'll rule it like talking, a free action or whatever)
Jackie kicked the Pokemon. It shuddered and nearly passed out.
The darkness wrapped ever tighter around them, seeming to crush them, but at the same time not actually harming them.
Slowly, ever so slowly, their eyes closed, until they slumped to the ground, unconscious.
This time, the Pokeball flew true. It hit the green Pokemon and zapped it inside, dinging shut.
Dynamo tried to tell Castle a joke. "Kid elek, Elekidkid? KID! KIKIKIKIKI!"
"Bam! Hahaha!" Carrie pumped a fist triumphantly. "Alright, Bob, now hit the next one with a-" She stopped. The spider Pokemon wasn't moving. Had Bob just killed it...?
She shook her head. She could focus on that later. Hell, it was far away. And a bug. She was probably just missing it anyway. "Go hit that last spider!"
Jackie was pumped up after attacking the spider that had gone after her, but she didn't particularly care to move closer to the last one. She did anyway, while trying not to look at the dead one. "Mercer, follow me." Mercer did so. "Time to get you up in the action, I think."
Dynamo wandered around the camp, setting up pranks for everyone. They were really simple 'pranks', just consisting of dirt and gravel in all the sleeping bags, sheets, and whatever else was being used to sleep in, but hey, it amused him
Littorio Tackled the white Pokemon again. It did, once again, very little.
Phillip waved his tail at the Pokemon, lowering its' defence further.
Bob rushed over to the other Spider and slammed his bone into it. It toppled to the ground immediately, unconscious- and thankfully, for the moment, spared the view of its' friend's death.
The white one quailed on the ground, too scared to do anything.
"Tough one. Hit it again."
"Okay, then. That just leaves the white one." Jackie didn't feel okay hitting it, though; it looked petrified, and in any case she didn't want to risk knocking it out before Greg caught it. So she took out her Pokedex. "Good work, Mercer." She began scanning.
"Ah, hey, Jackie, do you think you could get Mercer to put it to sleep before I try to catch it?"
"The thing is, he just used it. He can't use it again so soon. Sorry."
Dynamo continued to walk around. He started to use Thundershock on random tree branches
"Ah, right. Okay, then."
Greg pulled a Pokeball from his backpack and threw it.
Brandon was too busy whaling on trees to care for Dynamo's jokes or his pranks.
The area around the camp began to grow colder. The Pokemon left in camp unconsciously drew tighter in on themselves.
Dynamo huddled up with Brandon
The ball hit the white Pokemon. It zapped open, pulling the Pokemon inside, and shut closed, successfully capturing it.
Greg grins and retrieves the ball.
"Ha! I caught it!"
The camp grew colder, more oppressive, once again. Slowly, the camp became dark, nearly too dark to see.
Then the darkness retreated somewhat, and finally left- not completely, but enough to be bearable, as if the cause of it were outside the camp's perimeter.
Charles was laid down in front of the fire. Slowly, his eyes opened, with the cause of his sleep gone.
"Well, glad that's over." Now that the threat was gone, her eyes blatantly returned to the dead Pokemon.
Greg looks over at the dead Pokemon and stops smiling.
Charles got up slowly. "Guh... What... HOW THE HELL DID I END UP HERE!?"
He looked completely freaked out, it finally completely sinking in. "...Oh Arceus, did I just... Was that a..."
Dynamo ran over to Charles, wondering what the heck was going on. Charles then shouted at the top of his lungs to Dynamo, "I JUST TALKED TO A LEGENDARY POKEMON!"
Dynamo started backing away slowly
Carrie slowly walked over and picked up the Pokeball. She looked at it for a long moment, then returned it to her belt.
She turned back to the dead Spinarak. "Is it...?"
Bob plodded over to his trainer. He stared up at her with morose eyes.
"I think it . . . it's dead."
Greg looks down, silent.
"We're still here." The voices were amused, sitting back behind Charles' tent.
