    @Anonus: Imma gonna borrow this example from Urban Dictionary. I know it isn't the most reputable source, but you can see how well the description fits TVTropes in general, and especially Yack Fest and the like. Keep in mind I said most of the site was a hugbox, not all of it.

    A hugbox is a derogatory term for an environment, usually on the internet, in which a group with similar interests gathers to discuss topics in what they intend to be a safe, comforting, and confrontation-free environment.

    What they intend to be a "safe space" almost always turns into a circle-jerk of forced consensus and ends with every member repeatedly expressing the exact same opinion to each other, no matter the topic. Since the community is founded on unconditional love and support no matter how much of a tool a person is, these communities tend to attract tools and rational and useful advice is usually a rarity.

    Moderators of these groups are usually extremely militant and do not tolerate even the slightest dissenting opinion. Members of these groups are usually so hypersensitive that the moment a contrary opinion appears the entire community explodes in a total drama shitstorm.

    @AnneBeeche: See what, Forzare's thread? It was locked before it had the chance to become interesting. Forzare posted the OP, some random posted in agreement, I mentioned that the only the link was removed, not the fact that LPs started on SA, and Eddie replied "There was notice not to link to those forums. The link was edit warred back in. I restored it and locked it." and then locked the thread.

Shit.  I remember making that note like two years ago.  It was actually supposed to be a warning against linking to SA directly due to the paywall and that not all LPs get archived.  Somehow it mutated into not linking to SA at all.  Agh, can't believe FE used that as an excuse to delete the link.

    Cygan, you could appeal and get your editing rights back. Being a long time respected member and all, and you have many people on TvT who love you, but that would mean to admit you did something wrong, which as we all know was not the case.

    Also, there's a chance you would have to kiss FE's feet, which I would rather cut off at this point.

    Beats me. Especially as I've already accused him of being Orwellian. I think it's because he didn't want to make a fuss, and he didn't think anyone would care if he banned you now, but if he bans me when everyone's already looking on, he knows there's gonna be shit going down.
