  • It's a shame that the Fighting is Magic game is restricting itself to using season one content, because the party canon would be an awesome super.

Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
    That it would.

Maybe they'll add it in Super Fighting Is Magic 2 Turbo.
  • Something tells me they're quite aways from having even the first version with the first six fighters released yet. Not that I expect the project to peter out.
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
Yeah, I know. I just felt like making a Street Fighter reference.

Have they released who they plan to do other than the mane six yet?
  • No, but they have been updating their blog more frequently with some content-light posts. The biggest one was probably an image of Fluttershy surrounded by beasts- including a bear and a manticore, which seems to hint at a super. She also apparently fights with Angel at her side.

IIRC, there's going to be at least one non-pony character, absolutely no OCs, and Mayor Mare is the announcer (so she's probably unlikely to fight).

I don't get why there were expectations for Rarity to get blasted for lying. She learned a lesson at any rate.

Yeah, but "it's okay to lie to your friends as long as you're good at it, they'll bust ass to accommodate you, then be cool with it in the end (if they even find out)" isn't exactly a message you want underlying your children's show.  For a show about friendship, it kind of undermines the whole implicit trust component of that.
  • She doesn't even need to get scolded, she just needed to come clean, in my opinion. Purely because the Mare-Do-Well episode had RD get such a heavy-handed treatment, and this feels unfair in comparison.
  • Pretty much.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
^^That's mainly because RD was being a show off, and there's a weird double standard when it comes to being a show off in the show.

Take Trixie. Yeah, she's kind of a jerk but she was ultimately just a harmless stage magician. I don't know why a big deal was made over trying to cut her down to size.
  • I'll agree that it was pretty nuts to treat someone giving a free performance that badly.
  • Free or not, Trixie's show was like 80% verbally and/or physically abusing her audience  :|
  • That was after they started heckling her.
  • Something tells me it would've taken that course with or without the jeering.
  • Probably, but that doesn't make it right.
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
  • I'm surprised I haven't seen anything get made of a scene from Seinfeld's "The Pony Remark".
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
    ^Argh. Not sure if want.
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
I haven't read it yet, so I dunno if it's any good.  I just felt like it had to be shared.
  • Goddammit. I just know I'm going to be reading it even if it sucks...
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
Let me know how it is.  I'm lazy, so I'll take a real look at it later.

It's okay so far.  Forty pages in AJ's ranted at an answering machine, Big Mac's found a use for his huzzah pose, Dash almost killed a bunch of sea ponies that may or may not exist and, gave a half-assed science lecture, and seriously considered captchalogging another pony, and two characters have been hit by falling crates, so it's hitting the bar for weird shit at least.  AJ's inventory seems unnecessarily complicated, but the element of randomness might lead to some interesting things.

It does a decent job of switching the narration voice when characters get switched.

The unnecessarily complicated inventory thing was a Homestuck thing too, though, wasn't it?

    From what I've heard, anyway.

Well yeah, but AJ's is just...well, it's pretty darn Rube Goldbergy.  Basically things go in just fine, but pulling things out takes a few extra few steps that are themselves random enough that they could have just been random in the first place and not lost anything.
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
    It's Apples to Apples.

    That's awesome.

Though I guess it's confusing and random if you've never heard of the game before.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    -reads-

Yeah, that would make a lot less sense if you hadn't ever played Apples to Apples.

Yeah I was one of the uncool kids that played Scattergories.  So sue me >=[

EDIT: Twi's inventory is an octal hashtable.  I'm sold.
  • Yeah, this is pretty decently made as far as I can tell, but I think you might lose something not having read Homestuck.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

How did she tie the rope to the pitchfork?
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
Same way she ties those lassos she's always using in the show, I guess.
