  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
That sounds doable. And, of course, you can always edit the edits.

I'll get to work and post here as I go then.
  • Ok, what I'll probably do is wait until we have a solid list of agreed upon rewrites, and just edit them in one swoop.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    Gotcha.

Maybe we should start a new thread for it, so that examples you post won't get lost in the shuffle of the other conversations? Something like "Proposed Zettai Ryouiki example edits"?

I could message them to you.
  • Sure, either way is fine with me.

    Has friends besides tanks now
Whoa, did I miss lots of words. My thoughts:

-I find it unfortunate that DYRE would be thinking about Panty Shots so much. And yes, evilneko, we know you like KnJ.
-I liked OreImo, even though its premise is unsettling and the "Little Sister" at the center of the show is a wretch.
-I don't mind Fanservice as long as it's not the entire point of the work. If it is, there'd either be damn good supplementary qualities, or it'd better be porn. With that being said, I find it creepy that Tropers are so eager to read into the works they ingest and point out that awesome sexy thing they totally found that was definitely there.
-Fanservice is in no way exclusive to modern anime, nor is fanservice for fanservice's sake exclusive to anime, period.
  • Kichigai birthday!!
Isn't the little sister from Oreimouto whatever not the biological sister anyway?
  • Inside, too dark to read
^ "Incest is okay when you're adopted"?
  • Kichigai birthday!!
I didn't imply that, I was just asking.

"Isn't the little sister from Oreimouto whatever not the biological sister anyway?"

No, she is. Or at least, the show never said anything to imply otherwise.

^^ There are also no actual incest scenes in the series. Or sex scenes period.
  • Not Blood Siblings is such a fig leaf.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
    > [Don Zabu] *runs off to create trope*

Get me some popcorn while you're at it.  I like it buttered and salted.

    > My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute
    > Scrye's complaining about it

Dude, this isn't the first time that an animé or manga series had a mind-numblingly stupid title.  You have...well, you have "Dirty Pair", which was mentioned in this thread already.
  • Inside, too dark to read
"Have a Dirty Pair? Try new Otaku body wash."
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

    Electric Boogaloo
Precisely one half of the reason incest is taboo is because the people involved have failed to make the clear distinction between familial relationships and romantic relationships. So I find adopted-incest to be just as fucking creepy as normal incest, the only difference is their offspring might not be as physically fucked up.

^^^If you review my post, you'll notice I just said the title made me think of something else.
  • I'm less concerned with arguments against incest being bad, as there are good, rational arguments for such a thing to be the case.

I take more issue with implications that we can't enjoy works featuring fictional incest by extension. Fiction allows us to enjoy a lot of things that would be absolutely terrible if they happened in real-life, and the vast majority of viewers have enough of a grasp of the distinction between fantasy and reality to understand the difference.

I could never see a situation where I would be attracted to my brother or sister. But Suspension of Disbelief allows me not only to enjoy a work like Koi Kaze, but to get emotionally invested in the relationship between the siblings.

@Scrye2: I know, and I include "makes absolutely no sense in relation to the work" in my idea of "stupid".
  • But... OreImo's title does make sense in relation to the work.
