I am not ready to quit TV Tropes yet

Besides, one of the arguments used throughout the TT deletion thread was that if people wanted to build community and talk about themselves, the forums were the place to do it.
It will be far easier to police, everything will be in one place, most current TT users won't want to use it, and all trace of personal anecdotes on the Wiki itself will be gone. No matter which way you look at it, this has been a major victory for those of you who worked so hard in the Troper Tales thread. You should be proud of yourselves.
Will people be able to talk about themselves on the forums? Sure. But they already can (and do) talk about themselves on the forums, and to ban such a thing would be ludicrous.
Many on the Pro-TT-Deletion side argued that they should have been using the forums instead of Troper Tales in the first place. So I'm not sure why there's so much resistance to Eddie's plan, especially since he was willing to bend on the Discussion Pages thing.
Quoting Fast Eddie.
"Direct people to the discussion page for personal anecdotes. This
message to go directly on the article edit screen, stating
unequivocally that personal anecdotes do not go in the articles. We no
longer talk about 'troper tales.' We talk about personal anecdotes."
So, is this a victory for the pro-TT Deletion faction? Doesn't sound like it.
That pisses me off. I had nothing to do with this, but I know that some people were over-anxious about this whole thing. Some people lost sleep over this. You guys put a lot of effort to inform, debate, and push the issue of having Troper Tales on the Wiki. All that work just so Fast Eddie rescind the official vote on the issue but masking it as something else. Fast Eddie just slapped you guys in the face.
If you can't see how much of a positive change this is, there's probably nothing that I can say to convince you.
"We tried this hard and went this far, but you want to keep it the same for no other reason than 'Amusing and Nostalgia' then so be it, I'll be chatting with the Tvtrope people who listen"
Something like that.
would flounce over it. It was a week long process of arguments and
anxiety, as you could tell merely by how often people reported the
score. The way this was thrown away goes beyond Troper Tales and speaks
about the site's very foundations.
Though I'm not indignated about this for some (I presume not good)
reason, and won't be any less active on the forums (or get a handle
without the word "troper" in it).
Somehow I thought something like this might happen. I still don't think that the "solution" actually addresses the problem that caused the TT to go bad in the first place.
