  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
How would they handle more magical monsters, though (eg the Lich)?

The same way -- strategy, skill and technology.

Also, we're talking the later Middle Ages, c.1350. So plate armour exists but is often prohibitively expensive, blackpowder cannons but no handheld guns, ect.
  • I thought there were handheld guns in the late Middle Ages, albeit extremely simple ones (mainly used by the Ottomans).
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
It depends on the region. They were pretty poor weapons for the first couple of hundred years and didn't really catch on as standard infantry weapons for a while. I'm not well-read on the Ottomans, so I'll take your word for it. In my German/French/English-influenced setting, though, the main value of gun technology is in war machines.

Even in the 1459 Codex Talhoffer handheld guns go either unmentioned or are disdained, can't remember. But early firearms were dismissed because of their poor accuracy and unreliability, being best as psychological weapons. Western Europe preferred standard bows and crossbows for many years.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
I was under the belief that they were used, but only under fortifications due to their inaccuracy and long reloading time.
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
For comparison's sake, early firearms were so inefficient that they had slower rates of fire, slower reloading speed and less power and penetration than bows and crossbows of the time. With a longbow or crossbow, you had a decent chance of taking down a plate-armoured knight within 100m. With a gun, it could conceivably happen, but you're not so much wielding a weapon with skill as using a mechanism that follows its own orders.

For those reasons, most soldiers of the 14th century didn't really like them, although plenty of armies used cannons for their unique direct fire capabilities and raw power. It's true that they were used, but they were used in the same way longswords might've been used in the 11th century; the exception rather than the rule.
  • Does the title "Assholes Get All the Bitches" sound too Nice-Guy-ish?

It's an Artifact Title, but someone does tell the main character, Richard, it when he asks about how to get a girl.

"Well, what can I do to get a girlfriend?"
    "Be more assholish."
    "What? Why?"
    "Because.....assholes get all the bitches."
    ".....You're an idiot."

Does the title "Assholes Get All the Bitches" sound too Nice-Guy-ish?

    'Fraid so.
  • Yeah, but it's a non-serious title. And it makes all my friends laugh...
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
I'm not sure you want "bitch" in your title. It's not exactly a heavy cuss, but it's not exactly classy either. I'd pass over a book titled like that. In addition, a book concerning "acquiring women" (as it the baseline element here) doesn't exactly strike me as something I'd want to read. So already, you're not exactly reaching a wide audience nor advertising your intelligence well.
  • They're somethin' else.
Then you have nothing to worry about if it's all in jest
  • I don't suppose anyone here is knowledgeable enough in general fashion/clothing to tell me how much my world-built clothing makes sense?
  • Madass:....This is a slice-of-life comedy about an Otaku in his tiny Virginian town, and the things he does with his friends. His parents are two Otaku who met at a con and love Latin, so they gad their children learn it by the age of 5.

He has a gay brother with pink hair, and the owner of the local anime store is an LSD junkie.

This is....a comedy through and through.
  • I didn't find it too funny, but I don't see it as particularly nice-guy-serious either.
  • Really, I just don't know what to replace it with.

Also, Richard manages to get the girl he likes, Jennifer, without being an asshole anyway. He just treats her nice and like a nkrmal human.

I know more about fashion then most "guys".

    I've got you AHR
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
That's all well and good, but the title still sucks.
  • Eh, me and my friends find the title hilarious.
  • $80+ per session
Well me and my friends would like to have sex on school grounds. Doesn't mean its good.

lolnope. Read my thread on tv tropes :D

Yeah. I know. Wall of text. It's a GN script.
  • "Well me and my friends would like to have sex on school grounds. Doesn't mean its good."

What does that have to do with anything?

Last I checked, humor is subjective.
  • $80+ per session
It looks good to me, but two questions.

Why do the men wear skirt like things, and why no jewelry?
  • Skirts on men appeared up until around the tudor era, when people went with a codpiece.

Before then, many men wore dress like things, and even went through their own miniskirt phase of them getting shorter and shorter and shorter.

Jewelry because jewelry is either associated with criminals and gangsters, and stolen things, or really expensive and hard to get in certain areas, depending on the function said jewelry serves.
  • No rainbow star
Should I add a warrior/fighting type to my game?

I don't want to copy Pokemon too much (heck, instead of normal I use three of the core elements (Wind for flying creatures is their normal. Water for aquatic creatures. Earth for terrestrial creatures)), but at the same time it would certainly be a handy thing to have

The list of types so far for those who are curious/want to know it before answering:

    Dark:
    -Spirit
    -Undead

    Earth:
    -Arthropod
    -Metal
    -Plant
    -Stone

    Fire:
    -Dragon
    -Phoenix

    Light:
    -Mind

    Water:
    -Ice
    -Toxic

    Wind:
    -Thunder

Oz (The Reality Type - Although the word for reality in my game is Na...):
    -Elemental
  • You could have a "force" type which is like fighting, or something, if you want.
  • No rainbow star
^ ...I did not think of a force type. And it could easily have mystic elements to it

Thanks for that :D Now to do some figuring...
  • I am helping.
  • I'm toying with the idea of looking at various Dracula media and writing up a biography for the Count. Dunno if anyone'd be interested in that sort of thing.
  • Someone would. Somewhere. Literature is a niche world.
  • I suppose if someone was interested in it enough to think of it, someone else must want to read it.

Ugh. Dammit Writer's Block. Stop alternating between bragging about your extreme genius and whining about how much humanity sucks and how much everything bursts into flames of fail the minute you look at it.

--sigh-- I know, I know, importing drama, but it drives me mad sometimes...
    --

^Plus, the horror genre has a healthy fanbase. If there was enough drive to print those various Dracula media things, there will be drive for the autobio.
