    A potent drug, indeed.

  • "Man, that guy was so buzzed out on Chagen he didn't even know who he was!"

  • I clench my fists and yell "anime" towards an uncaring, absent God, and swear solemnly to press my thumbs into Chocolate America's eyeballs until he is blinded, to directly emasculate sporting figures, to beat the shit out of tumblr users with baseball bats, and to quietly appreciate what Waylon Smithers being gay means to me.

Thanks for making this thread! It's actually quite fascinating to see the history of a small discussion board in action. By the way, what was Chagen banned for anyway? I sincerely hope he was banned fairly quickly.

I started a huge dramafest over a comment of his about being ableist that upset someone I like in order to get the mods to ban him.

    About that...

  • Glaives are better.

I liked Chagen. He amused me.

Also, he had a lovely bass voice.

Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.

Chagen took way, way, way too long to get banned.

But we've had this conversation before.

  • Radd (I think) aptly summed the whole situation up on Beyond The Lampshade as him being the shitty poster equivalent of an abusive spouse.

Just out of curiosity, what was it about him that people actually liked?

  • We had hope. Obviously, that never came to fruition.

Why would you keep him on this site? WHY? Jesus Christ, look at this godforsaken nightmare. I get chills every time I see that video, which is far more than I can say of most people on the Internet. I think I need to take a break from this website.

  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
I still think we shouldn't have even approved his application.

Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

^^^^Chagen? Nothing other than how amusing he was when he was being astoundingly dumb.

  • Woki mit deim Popo.

I think it was just mod inexperience with dealing "special" people.

  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

Yeah, the mods were too lenient before Chagen. It was his actions and SA's prodding that got them to get their act together.

  • Though, I think there was a general consensus that he had gotten better. Granted, at no point were his tendency towards certain behaviors acceptable and it had taken him way too long to make insufficient improvements, but I think most people were aware of them. I don't think he was ever quite as bad during his last stay here as his worst on TvTropes.

    Loser

I guess there is not really a rule against this and I understand that people have problems with Chagen (which is part of the reason that user was banned), but I think that complaining about him has gotten pretty excessive at this point. The stuff about him or any other user being completely irredeemable and such especially bothers me. Frankly, I do not find criticism of an already banned user particularly fun to read.

That is not say that people posting in this thread necessarily have been doing all of the things I just mentioned, I guess those are just some things that bug me that I continue to see around here. I hope I did not sound like was ranting angrily there.

As for the topic at hand, I feel like this thread is only really going to be harmful if people either do dumb stuff to try to get mentioned in it or if it makes people think this site has not changed at all. The latter seems more likely to me than the former, but I am not sure about either of those potential effects.

Did you get to the part in the video where he was talking about being attracted to little kids and posting that in a public forum from a public computer in the children's section of a library? Or maybe the parts where he tells everybody that they need to stop persecuting him just because he's a furry pedophile diaper-loving anime otaku  fucktard and acting holier-than-thou and aaaaaaa

Okay sorry, it's just that Chagen is one of those people that makes you have to take a break from the Internet because goddamn, seriously.

  • Woki mit deim Popo.

I guess you had the same reaction when first saw Chris Chan.  From my personal experience, I find it's a really bad idea to let problem posters loose like that.

  • No rainbow star
...Chagen showed pedophilic tendencies? I knew of him only on this forum

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

I still think we shouldn't have even approved his application.

He was here before I was, and I don't think we did applications when I joined. We added them when we stopped being Vanilla hosted.

I think it was just mod inexperience with dealing "special" people.

Pretty much, TBH. That and the fact that he actually was showing some (very minor) improvement, so we kinda tried to give him the benefit of the doubt for a bit...which was dumb, but I don't think any of us claims to have been good at modding at that point.

^^ Yes. He talked about hating to look at kids and think of raping them.

  • Glaives are better.

I didn't see Chagen's posts about fetish stuff because I stay away from those sorts of threads. Especially after I got banned for taking issue with someone's Nazi dogfucking fetish. That sort of soured me on the whole issue. Maybe if I had stuck around, I'd have a lower opinion of him.

But the main reason why I liked him was because he stirred things up, got people angry, then sulked. It's entertaining.

I'd like to remind non-regulars that events posted here have been carefully cherry-picked under the most strict standards of drama and does not represent the nature of IJBM except under very specific circumstances.

Things have actually been pretty good for about a month or two (I forget, when was Chagen banned?), with the exception of one banning that was really just cleaning up after something that happened awhile ago but wasn't caught immediately.

Chagen was banned before the penis and rape things happened, and before Shichibukai and CornucopiaSocialist were banned (if that counts). But yeah, it's been pretty quiet lately.

     Nazi dogfucking fetish

     Hee hee hee.

    pretty quite

I don't want to be a spelling Nazi dogfucker here, but you might want to be careful with that typo.

  • There's no typo and you can't prove it.

  • Glaives are better.

What "penis and rape things?" Those are my four favorite words, in that order.

  • They're at the top of this page.

  • I like that "It's been pretty quite lately." also makes sense as an English sentence.

  • Though I'd probably punch someone if they always talked like that. =P

  • I suppose I should mention your tempting me.
