Nom Lam knew better than to get between a cat and its prey, but it'd still get overwhelmed if it went in alone.

    Ready action.

    Trigger: Hobbes attacks.

Action: Move to the nearest place adjacent to it.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

The skeletons on the other side all raised their weapons, preparing to attack anyone who came through.

Djanain moved through the doorway, passing by Zoras towards his right, and attacked the skeleton in front of Zoras, diagonal to him so as not to get in the way of his spear.

Djanain's scimitar bit deep into the skeleton's breastbone, causing it to stagger.

  • Nom Lam moved past Hobbes, feinting in order to avoid getting caught off guard by the surrounding skeletons. He then turn towards the one Djanain had already damaged and delivered an overhead chop.

The skeleton's strike passes before Nom Lam, catching at his clothes but not tearing them. Nom Lam's blow catches the skeleton Djanain had attacked unawares, shattering it completely.

Several skeletons advance forward, attacking Hobbes, Djanain and Nom Lam.

    (Rolled: 5d20. Rolls: 8, 12, 12, 3, 6. Total: 41)

Meanwhile, the skeleton wielding a crossbow aimed and fired at Zoras.

The skeletons surrounding Hobbes tangle their swords together. The blows land, but skitter off Hobbe's hide, causing him no damage.

The skeletons attacking Djanain and Nom Lam have no more luck, missing their targets entirely.

Similarly, the bolt fired from the skeleton's crossbow misses Zoras, slamming into the wall next to his head.

  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.

Zoras moves 15 feet south and attacks the skeletons closes to Djanain.

    Has friends besides tanks now

Djanain attacked the skeleton directly in front of him.

    Attack: (Rolled: 1d20+2. Rolls: 5. Total: 7)

Damage, if applicable: (Rolled: 1d6+1. Rolls: 3. Total: 4)

POTENTIAL CHEATING DETECTED. If it appears that dice were rolled in this post, they may need to be disregarded as fabricated.
  • Nom Lam saw the elven boy struggling with the skeleton in front of him. The battle had been going on for less than a minute, yet, to the monk, it seemed like forever... he'd have to make things faster on his end, at least, so he kicked the skeleton right in front of Djanain, and, using the same leg, rapidly followed with another kick to the one in front of him [Flurry of Blows]

    Attacks:

    (Rolled: 1d20+3. Rolls: 1. Total: 4)

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

Thevel's splash of acid hits the crossbow-wielding skeleton, burning a deep hole in its clavicle. It chitters, a high-pitched noise, and returns the favour, shooting a crossbow bolt at Thevel.

    (Rolled: 1d20+1. Rolls: 17. Total: 18)

The skeleton standing in front of Djanain blocks the blows with its arms, then chitters mockingly at Djanain. Djanain gets the feeling that if the skeletor still had eyes and a tongue, it would be crossing its eyes and poking its tongue out at him.

It reaches out to slap him across the face.

    (Rolled: 1d20. Rolls: 5. Total: 5)

The other remaining skeletons strike out at the characters in front of them. The skeleton that had been facing Nom Lam attacked Djanain, and the two remaining skeletons attacked Hobbes.

The crossbow strikes Thevel in the torso, digging deep into him.

    (Rolled: 1d8. Rolls: 1. Total: 1)

The skeleton that tried to slap Djanain didn't quite connect. Instead, its claws caught his cheek as Djanain ducked back, reminiscent of a mocking caress.

One skeleton missed entirely. However, it forced Hobbes to move his head to the side, whereupon the other skeleton struck, its claw piercing deep into Hobbes' eye.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

The skeleton's claw digs deep into Hobbe's eye, but doesn't quite manage to rip it out before the skeleton dances out of the way.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

Zoras' spear catches the skeleton in the skull, piercing it through. The skeleton's body shudders and collapses, bones crashing to the floor.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

    Hobbes attacks another skeleton.

Hobbe's blows decimate the skeleton. The attack tears the skeleton's limbs off, his claws ripping its legs off and his mouth tearing its arms off.

The skeleton shrieks under the assault, before suddenly falling silent and crumbling to pieces as Hobbes' sword takes off its head.
