Hmm, are those names supposed to imply some sort of connection between them?
Sounds like you might like Kamen Rider Ryuki, then.
So I watched Steins;Gate.
It was really great although it does take quite a while to get started (and it is sort of annoying at first, too)
Lemme guess, it was around episode 10 or 12 that it really kicked in for you? That's about when it kicked in for me and started being great sci fi about a shouty idiot trying to save his friends.
12, to be exact.
Yeah, 12 is where the series kicks into overdrive. Just a shame that after that point, it's nearly impossible to discuss without spoilers.
Someone's Google Chat status said "practice and ACC-" in my chat list (as in, it was cut off).
The first thing I thought was "ACC-CHAN".
(It was actually ACC-Big 10.)
I thought it was gonna be "ACCOUNTING", but I guess that's just me.
It took Steins;Gate twelve episodes to get going? Well, I guess I'm not going to try it again for a while. Which is too bad, because the hype I've seen for it is pretty impressive.
So I have some anime pictures among the random assortment in my wallpapers folder. I also figured out how to change my login screen background in Win7 to other pictures, and it's currently this AKB0048 wallpaper. And my user icon is a Kiddy Grade avatar by LJ user inksmears.
So typically, I'm slightly skittish about letting people see my desktop wallpaper and login screen. Not terribly skittish; I don't really care that much, but I like being a bit discreet about it.
So today I was working on a group project, and my partner and I just sat down for lunch. I started up my computer, and in the course of conversation my partner (somewhat hesitantly) revealed that he watches anime, asking me if I knew about it.
My computer had turned on to the login screen. At that point, I flipped up the display, took a look at it, took a look at him, took a look at it again, took a look at him again, and said, "Yes."
So KyoAni's first original work in since... Munto? I think, is Tamako Market. Headed by the staff behind K-On and starring Chitanda Eru. All we have on it right now is that.
Also, Precure starts a season late, why Toei/Bandai/Whatever studio actually makes Precure, why?
Steins;Gate is getting a slightly earlier than usual BD Box release day, probably to prepare for the movie.
Shoujo, it is ranking. Impressive how these titles are doing this year. SAO also moves more volumes, but nowhere near Volume 1's numbers just yet.
Why do they make Kamen Rider and Super Sentai? Why did they revive Saint Seiya? Why do they want to revive Sailor Moon? Money, is the answer.
Anime of the decade.
I like that they make lots of money.
I have no idea how this affects Precure starting a season late (In fact, if it started earlier they could get it into the minds of the Japanese little girls faster, therefore getting them to buy even more merchandise).
I'm just annoyed that this means Smile (Also known as kind of the worst season since Yes! Go Go) will run longer than usual (Or we'll have 4-7 weeks of no Precure, which is not okay).
I know right?
So you don't particularily like that Smile Precure might run for a couple episodes more, but wouldn't like either that for the show to go off the air for a couple weeks? Can you run that for me? I don't get it.
Presumably, the idea is that Smile should end soon and be immediately replaced with a better Precure series.
What DYRE said, though I'd prefer extra Smile episodes (Cause it can be kind of cool sometimes) to no Precure at all.
And woohoo, Saint Precure I mean Saint Seiya Omega actually has managed a fun Gold Saint/Sanctuary Battle arc for the time being.
I think it's the same reason why Kamen Rider now starts a few months before Super Sentai. Something about how the toy/merch years shouldn't all start at the same time.
Anyway, right now there's no word on whether Smile will be longer of if there's gonna be a break? I'm guessing longer season is more likely.
But the schedule is Early Fall for Rider, Early Winter for Precure and Early Spring for Sentai. So if Precure has been pushed to Spring it kinda messes with everything.
Might have something to do with the Sailor Moon reboot.
is anyone actually going to watch that, by the way?
I have heard nothing but derision and general snark directed at it.
I'm going to watch it. Though I never watched the original Sailor Moon so I'm just watching it because mahou shoujo.
Also there are definitely people excited for it.
I watched the original Sailor Moon back when the dub first aired here. But for the life of me, I can't remember one thing about the show.
I'm probably not because the character/costume designs have always kind of hurt my eyes (Gangly shoujo people, what can I say) but where I've been everybody has been excited for it.
I mean, Mahou Shoujo can be fun, but for some reason I feel like there needs to be a reason for me to watch it aside from "It's Sailor Moon!" because I haven't seen the original. It hasn't shown me so far if it can be fun as Smile Precure or as fulfilling as Heatcatch or Fresh Precure or Symphogear.
This is probably because duh, no PVs, but promo art can do wonders for a series too.
If it's a new continuity I might actually watch it, I remember I was a big fan, I even played make-believe about it. It feels weird to remember that I loved it and not remember the details, that goes for Candy Candy as well, but then, Candy was a slut.
I heard it's just a more direct adaptation of the manga than the previous show(s) was, so I'm guessing you're not gonna get lost if you don't know much about it.
Anyway, I watched the Fate/prototype... thing, and it really looks like there's potential there. It could make a good full series that wouldn't just be FSN with female Shiro.
Fate/Prototype. A racist priest, a servant passing for a high school kid while moonlighting as a serial killer, a little girl that's actually the revived corspe of the protagonist's sister. etc. There's a lot of potential in the thing, but sadly, Nasu won't actually try to develop it further than this series of vignettes, although technically, he didn't deny the possibility of it being made into a proper series, but that it would need other person to actually helm the whole enterprise.
Well, sorta. What I meant is that the plot and tone of the show changes hugely after that. It's less about nerds being nerds (With time travel) and more about Okabe learning to not be a douche once that episode rolls. But the show does start in terms of plot early on at 3-4ish.
