No, that's just for the first volume. The rest are two episodes per disc. Shin Sekai Yori is doing that too, except with three episodes per disc after the first.
Official DokiDoki Precure Poster! Looks great.
Is it just me or does the marketing look a little more... shonen, than usual? (Less sparkles and color theme things, a sky that implies adventure, lots of focus on the main heroine instead of the ensemble).
Looks like we're back to color coded transformation devices.
Baby Mascot, I'm kind of scared...
On the other hand, the first series starting with four! So I'm excited to see where this goes.
Also, the art direction, totally not Saint Seiya-lite. Totally.
The phones appear to have what might be fairies on them. Are we going to go back to having one mascot character for each main character (in addition to baby mascot I guess)?
Also, can it be February now?
Seems so. At least it can't get much worse than Candy.
Oh, I see now. Still 6000Y for the two-episode sets even on BD. I wonder why, is it to boost V1 sales for charting or are they trying to hook people into series without making the big 'drop $80 upfront' commitment?
Shin Sekai Yori is charging average prices for BDs though. Also, Shin Sekai Yori's BD covers are kinda hard to look at and unless the show is now about playing boardgames, completely unrelated.
Oh gosh now I'm going to notice this "adventure sky" trope.
Still wish I could PLAY Dangan Rompa.

There is an LP out there with links to the appropriate songs that would be playing at a given time. So really it's like playing the game and you don't miss out on the whole trial mechanics with tetchy gameplay.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT
THE LATEST EPISODE OF JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE IS THE GREATEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE
FUCK YOU STRAITS
REALLY FUCK YOU
FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU
IT ISN'T THE SAME ALKTHASH.
It's the same reason I won't watch an LP of Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward. I'm going to wait until when I have a PS Vita.
It really pretty much is the same though. Isn't it mostly just a visual novel, with boring gameplay tacked on?
Pretty much yeah.
Can't comment on the sequel, but the first game actually did a surprisingly good job of making the fact that it was a videogame on the DS integral to the story.
The gameplay was boring, but by the end, it pretty clearly had a "that's why this is a game" moment.
I was actually talking about Dangan Ronpa though...
oh
well then
Well, the Kuroko no Basuke thing just got even creepier.
So, AKB0048 seems to straddle the line between "legend" and "live".
???
"live" - the events shown herein should be taken roughly at face value
"legend" - the events shown herein should be less at face value and more interpreted as meaning something in a broader context, which may go beyond the setting of the story
I just came up with the term "live"; I've used the term "legend" for a while now.
>The gameplay was boring, but by the end, it pretty clearly had a "that's why this is a game" moment.
Yeah, I think that's probably the best use of the DS' dual screen capability I've seen.
I have to figure out what to rate Element Hunters, Uta~Kata, and Time of Eve.
Element Hunters is a decent show, but kinda doesn't hold up well on its edutainment front even though it started well, and the setting goes a bit bonkers at the very end. I'm thinking of a 7; it's a good series, but not one I'd describe as totally solid. (It is liquid, sometimes gaseous, and possibly even in plasma form at times.)
Uta~Kata is one of those shows that I felt was...uh, yeah, kinda there, shortly after I watched it. But the more I've thought about it, the more I've realized that there are lots of interesting and unanswered questions for the viewer to ponder, some of which are pretty disturbing...and the more I feel how that soundtrack is both comforting and unnerving at the same time...
Time of Eve, despite being short and raising more questions than it answers, seems to be put together in a very, very solid way. It seems the point of that little series was in fact to ask questions that didn't have answers. The story as it stands begs for a continuation, but I can completely understand if there will never be one because leaving the questions unanswered makes them more interesting to ponder. This series might actually get a second 9/10 out of me but I'll have to think about that.
^ I saw Time of Eve somewhat recently. And I agree, the questions pondered are definitely not meant to be answered by the series itself. It was pretty nice visually too.
Oh, the series has an incredible grasp of dramatic and comedic timing. It knows just when to manipulate one's sensibilities of understanding.
Shinsekai Yori fails to chart for first week BD sales. I'm actually surprised.
Eva continues to sell and sell. Obvious, but still impressive.
Still have to finish that.
Bump it up to 8 cause Yuutarou Honjou.
Time of Eve for me was brought down by episode 4, I really didn't like it.
What was it about ep 4?
It bugged me that the moment there was an android who didn't look or act human, he was kind of treated like a comedy device.
Almost every other android is treated, not only by our protagonist but by the show, as being 'worthy' of status as a human equal. He... just isn't. I get that he has major problems with his OS and body, but that's in no way an excuse to turn him into a joke.
I mean, they could have had a funny close call once or twice, but every time he did something it was "Hey, look at the funny robot! Laugh at how stupid it is!"
To me, he wasn't stupid, he had motivation, he had... primitive emotions, he was compelling. It was the perfect time to look at a non-human looking android as "worthy".
But the show went beyond the comedy device thing, and treated it as a source of drama and introspection (both about society and also about the rules of the cafe).
I honestly didn't see that. At most, I saw that he was dispatched because he was old, but nobody cares about this in-show.
