Yes. ;_;
I'll...
...watch it eventually.
But not now. I'll probably just marathon it sometime after it finishes.
Why do you put yourself through such torture just to hear some voice actors?
Because it gives me an excuse to force myself to watch shows I don't like so that I can become more bitter and angry.
Why I think this is a good thing, I don't know.
I mean, I love Tomokazu Sugita in any role he has, but every show I watch is because there's something I like about the show other than its cast.
I actually like Haruhi's plot and characters. I love Gintama's sense of humor. I like the characters in Inuboku. Danshii Koukousei no Nichijou's hilarious. ETC.
I've watched shows for dumber reasons, really. And anyway, Queen's Blade is so far the only show I've really had to force myself to watch just for a seiyuu that's in it. And even then, it was actually sort of bearable since Nanael (voiced by Aya Hirano) is an entertaining character (and, notably, keeps her clothes on most of the time), and she gets a lot of screen time despite not really being a main character. And to be totally honest, I actually do kind of want to watch Accel World anyway, since I want to see if it is dumber or less dumb than Sword Art Online.
However, I really do not want to watch Seikon no Qwaser, Manyuu Hikenchou, or Hyakka Rouran: Samurai Girls. And so I probably won't. At least not until I'm really, really bored and have run out of good anime to watch, or something.
There are much more effective ways to go about this. Like reading about atrocities throughout history. Or just current politics. Or fun things like PMCs.
Motherfuckers don't know about self-torture until they watch Transformers.
Holy crackers! Maji de Otaku na English! Ribbon-chan has an American who isn't blonde with blue eyes!
Also lol @ "pantsu janaikara hazukashikunai!" being one of the example sentences (and "I'm not embarrassed cause it's not an underwear" being the translation they give... >.>).
So Hyouka is probably never going to be licensed.
StupidBandaigoingoutofbusinessandnobodyelsewantingKyoAnistuff.
Bandai's U.S. localization is going out of business?
^ They went out of business in January. Like, right before everybody thought they were about to get Nichijou.
Now they're gone and we'll never get the Tales of Symphonia OVAs or any other Tales thing (BONES stuff was rescued by Sentai though aside from AO which went to Funi, so that's good).
I know that feel. At least Funi and Sentai still exist. But they're still doing games.
... The sudden spike in Tales localizations suddenly makes sense.
Sentai has the license for Clannad and K-ON!!, and Funimation has the license for Kanon, I think. So it's not like Bandai was the only company that would license KyoAni shows...
Also, unrelatedly, I still do not understand how fansubbers can be as bad as they sometimes are. ".." instead of an actual ellipsis and having the wrong honorifics and names (despite them actually being said in the dialogue, and therefore impossible to screw up) and thinking that I will ever believe for one second that a character is accidentally saying "flounder" instead of "boyfriend" (yes, it's a pun that doesn't work in English, but really if it's not going to work and it's not essential to the show... just pretend the pun isn't even there so at least the sentence makes sense).
Isn't this for the better? Bandai is the company that charges $50 per 2 episode DVDs right?
No, that's the Japanese.
Actually it's more like $70 dollars.
But Bandai would have gotten Nichijou and Hyouka by now...
Not the part where they're obsessed with being more elitist than the others? (10-bit, 8-bit, MKVs...)
More like $30 per 3/4 episodes of new, popular releases and then later like exactly the same prices as Funi and such.
And no it's not for the better since there were already ridiculously few anime localization companies in the US and having fewer just means less anime gets here (and, all things considered, gets done worse since Sentai and Media Blasters both kind of suck).
As of Un-Go Sentai no longer sucks though (Well, their dubs are still kind of unique)... aside from the P4 BD thing (And even those are getting the extras right?).
Oh yeah, .hack//ROOTS and Eureka Seven (Well, more episodes than 3/4 but there were still like 12 volumes) both got released like that. And didn't those used to come with cool stuff? I have a couple of E7 shirts and that's how I got introduced to both E7 manga.
Media Blasters still counts though? I thought they were like... the yaoi and ecchi guys?
Media Blasters did Ika Musume at least, so yes they are still around.
Probably! At least, I know Haruhi and Lucky Star had special editions that came with stuff.
Then nobody bought them so Lucky Star vol. 6 only has a regular edition so its cover looks out of place with all my other ones... >.>
And now that I think of it, I think Crimson was thinking of Bandai Visual, not Bandai Entertainment.
So the E7AO BD doesn't have just two episodes on it, it has two episodes and the Intro Movie (Which I'm dying to see since I didn't get it when it was online). I'm so happy that I only have to buy 8/9 BDs instead of 12.
I'm actually considering getting the first two One Piece sets to see if I like it, is this sane?
Yes, OP is quite good, but I'm not sure if that's far enough in for it to be representative of the series.
Edit: Yes, the first two Collections go up to episode 53, so that should be enough to get a taste.
As soon as I get my internet access back, I am marathoning the living hell out of Serial Experiments Lain. Before that, I am going to force my animation-buff friends to watch Cat Soup with me.
Heads will explode.
I should really watch Lain again. It was good. But I have a 30 second attention span apparently, so it's hard enough for me to stay caught up on seasonal anime right now.
Kokoro Connect has a second ED, apparently. I wonder if this is going to be a thing now (1 cour shows having more than one OP/ED does seem to generate a little more money for the music labels sponsoring the show, right?)
It should, considering the entire point of the OP/ED is to sell CDs (well and branding and making the show look better than it is and reducing the amount of actual content that needs to be made for each episode, but mostly selling CDs).
And there have already been plenty of 1 cour shows with multiple EDs. Some shows even have a different ED every episode.
It just never seems to become a thing... different ED every episode is taking it too far (Unless you're a music show). It should be a thing though, I really like OPs/EDs...
This isn't really a problem, in fact I used to be kind of annoyed at Hyouka for skipping the first OP (I really like Yasashisa no Riyuu.) And If E7AO ever skips Bravblue...
Inuboku had...the fox, the oni, the Sadomasochist oni, the multiple eyed monster and tanuki, the itta-momen and yuki-onna, and the giant eskeleton...hmmm...six ED in one cour.
