shit really
i must get on this shit like a junkie on crack
^^And magical power sources...
... who assimilate idols.
MyAnimeList and AniDB are probably the best sites for it that I know of. MAL is easier and quicker to use, AniDB has more features. For just making a list, MAL is probably better, but AniDB has nice stuff like telling you when new episodes are released for shows and when new anime gets added that is related to something you've seen (like, a sequel or OVA or whatever).
Mission Accepted!
Oh, also, actually, you can export your MAL list into a format that can be imported by AniDB. So, yeah...
Unless you really, really, want everyone to know exactly which release of each episode you've watched of all your anime, and where you store it, just make a MAL list and export it to AniDB or something. (and you can even import it in Anime-Planet, too, but there's no point since anime-planet sucks).
Baccano!? Fate/zero? Kino's Journey?
I was actually referring to one of the side characters, and knew this detail. But I probably shouldn't continue it anyway. Other, better things to watch.
Nazo No Kanojo X is good, bitch, why would you drop it?
re non-harem show that started with light novels:
Rocket Girls.
re fanservice shows @JHM:
Well, I recently watched Element Hunters, and that has no fanservice.
The iDOLM@STER actually also has little or no fanservice (depending on whether you count the first half of the beach episode).
If you're talking about less peppy, darker stuff, I might talk about Yukikaze (a.k.a. Fairy Air Force), but that show kinda sucked. It was like...a seven-hour movie telling a story that could have been told in two and a half hours, or something.
Thing is, though, if I'm just looking for a series to spend some relaxation time watching, I'm probably not going to look for a darker-and-edgier type of series. That's just my taste. I'll leave others to explain theirs.
^^ The 9999 Fetishes thing it had going, I guess?
Because I really, really wanted to just get to this season's shows. Its the same reason I dropped Moretsu Pirates and about half the reason I dropped Saki Achiga-hen (the other reason being that it sucks... >.>)
And because every time I watch it it makes me sad that the Yume Tsukai anime was so bad, since it's definitely a more interesting Ueshiba Riichi manga.
But mostly the first thing.
^ That's like 90% of the reason it's a decent show though...
And that makes it bad, how?
It's okay, DYRE.
Because it's kind of extremely off putting? I liked it for the romance (It was like Kare Kano but much cuter) and the characters. I kind of got used to it in the end but I just assumed most people dropped it because of that.
I should really start on Kokoro Connect but I'm waiting for somebody to see if it's as serious as I assumed and not just "Switch bodies! Let's grope ourselves!"
glennmagusharvey: I meant fanservice in the older, more general sense, not the sexy-sexy/cute-sexy/cute-cute sense. For example, The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya.
It's not that I dislike those sort of shows, just that most of what I tend to watch is a bit more idiosyncratic. (Ouran High School Host Club aside...)
I still read Bleach. Can't believe Byakuya might be dead.
^^ What more general sense?
^ Did it get better? I re-picked it up during the Fullbring/Xcution(Or whatever the Magical Powered Kids and Adults who weren't soul reapers was called) and as soon as the Soul Society started showing up again I dropped it again...
I posted because my previous post has a highlight spoiler. All I can say is that a lot of shit has hit the fan.
The good kind or the 'What the heck is this' kind?
It's the "Holy shit I can't believe that just happened" kind, the kind where major characters are hurt/dead. Whether that's the good or bad kind is entirely up to the reader, but considering almost every major character lived to this part, it's definitely a huge change in story and tone.
In Bleach? Wow...
I don't know, I kind of liked stopping where the anime ended but I might buy the volumes when they come out in English.
Uh, haven't main characters been hurt massively before, only to be miraculously healed/get straight back up?
Hopefully Orihime won't mass-heal everything away once the Arc is over ala the Pain Arc in Naruto.
Not that I want characters to die for no reason.
> orihime
http://leekspin.com/
@JHM: What do you mean by general fanservice? Do you mean fan-pandering?
Orihime is the Japanese name for the star Vega.
That is all I know about things named Orihime.
I thought the Japanese name for Vega was Balrog.
Wait, so Godzen and his lackeys couldn't kill any of the main characters, but people who have apparently only been introduced in this most recent arc could? Fuck Kubo.
Well, in that case, I have to admit that it's much easier to troll people when you're afforded a massive budget and a titanic (hurr) fandom for your trolling. And much easier to be trolled knowing that people can do that. Ah, well.
I noticed something was up with Bleach as soon as Rukia got kidnapped the first time but I could never really let it go. I just hoped Orihime, Chad and Uryuu would eventually get some decent character development and develop into the team Ichigo needed.
@glennmagusharvey: Yeah, basically, though "pandering" might be a bit harsher than I'd like to put it. Really, it's stuff put in explicitly (or implicitly) to please or play to the fan-base.
