I had to look up who that was, but yeah, that was definitely messy.
Sailor Moon Reboot, Summer 2013
On one hand: SAILOR MOON!
On the other: I enjoy even my least favorite Precure (Splash*Star) show more than I did Sailor Moon.
Also: That art style, it needs to be updated.
Picture it fellows. Ultimate Sailor Moon. Were everything is grim derp ridiculous and the Sailor Scouts are vaguely fascist douchebags. And Tuxedo Mask is bald black man with an eyepatch.
What you did there.
I see it.
^^... That needs to be fanfic now.
^ I don't see anything.
It's Ultimate Marvel.
Fourteenwings: It's shorthand for "I understand that reference that you are making."
"Are you dense? Are you retarded or something? Do you think the moon on my goddamn tiara stands for France?! I'm the Goddamn Sailor Moon!"
^^ I knew that, I just didn't know what reference you were making.
Oh, Comic books. Somebody really needs to tell me where to start with those...
I wonder whether this'll be a manga adaptation or a simple anime reboot...
Oh, hey, maybe I'll actually watch this. Since, y'know, I didn't actually ever watch Sailor Moon yet.
Or anything of value, ever. (Joking)
I just got into comics a month or two ago, so I know some pretty good recent jumping-on points. What sort of story do you think you'd like?
I'd like to read some, but I'm one of those people who can only value free entertainment like webcomics, flash animations, podcasts, review shows and the like. I wouldn't even know where to begin with comics since my unfamiliarity with them makes me think they're all superhero comics with rare exceptions.
FreakAngels is a webcomic that was done by people who do mostly do print comics, so you might want to check that out. It's sadly over now, but it's quite good.
They're mostly superhero comics, especially if you're just talking about Marvel and DC, but you'd be surprised how much variety things that fit the definition of "superhero" can have. For example, the current run of Animal Man definitely has a superhero as the main character, but the actual story is a crazy horror thing about a metaphysical war between the primal forces representing plants, animals and death.
>Picture it fellows. Ultimate Sailor Moon. Were everything is grim derp ridiculous and the Sailor Scouts are vaguely fascist douchebags. And Tuxedo Mask is bald black man with an eyepatch.
Will Sailor Pluto become an insane hippie terrorist?
>Implying she wasn't one already.
And Sailor Neptune and Uranus get to be cousins and lesbians this time.
@Comics: Basically everything, but I'd like to get the standard superhero stuff and then go from there.
As you may have deduced by my avatar chang (if my avatar has changed at all, fucking new server) I have just watched Perfect Blue.
Anyway, I think I liked Paprika more because Paprika didn't make me want to kill myself
I like horribly depressing things myself.
You should watch Casshern Sins. You'll love it.
... Casshern Sins is depressing? I thought it would be dark and dreary yet hopeful...
Many people consider it depressing.
I consider it more moody than anything, but what's my word against the rest of the intewebs'?
The premise still seems interesting to me, so I'll probably see it anyways.
It's a good show.
Main character angsts often though.
There's a show that nobody cared enough about to even list on their Summer 2012 lists that looks really cool, it's called Tanken Drilland and it's about a princess who decides to be come a hunter.
Plus the artstyle is so cuuuuuuuute...
I tried watching Casshern Sins.
I consider it extremely moody, while at the same time at least somewhat depressing.
I didn't like it.
^^ Oh wow that does look cool. I wonder if it'll get subbed.
Also, I still am extremely behind on anime, so I can't start anything from this season yet. Been so distracted by vidya gaems lately...
sage has it up.
I still need to see episode 13 of Dog Days again before starting on Dash (I'm not calling it ', that's just dumb).
Has Sentai licensed the K-ON! movie yet or are they going to make us wait until five months after they finish dubbing the season 2?
It doesn't seem that the movie's been licensed yet. So yeah, it'll probably be a while. Which is kind of weird since Sentai seems to be really quick to license absolutely anything.
Maybe they're waiting for the DVD/BD release (July 18/19?).
I can't for the life of me find any of Sentai's trailers online...
