The Al angst thing? Yeah, it's just one episode (the one Everest has next, I guess).
Yeah, it's resolved with this episode, thank God.
Whatevs, I'm gonna finish the first half of Shiki now.
Kyosuke assuming his sister wants to do him... isn't completely unreasonable but it would have been far more reasonable for him to assume that she's lesbian with a little sister fetish many otaku who don't have little sister have.
That said, if this episode is the baseline of weird stuff for the anime I'll be okay.
O_o What the hell are you talking about, Malk?
Oreimo.
Ah, upon further probing, I take this is another NHK-style spoof-fest?
Sort of. It's a pretty irreverent show, given the subject matter, but it's mainly a comedy that tackles otaku culture. It's not a particularly deep analysis of the culture or anything. And it's not nearly as dark as NHK could be at times, either; NHK had at least one episode (episode 3, specifically) that's much sketchier than anything that happens in OreImo, if you want a comparison.
guys guys

Black Lagoon has a kickass opening though.
Fitting, isn't it?
FUCK YEAH LIGHT JAZZ
FUCK YEAH CLOSEST THING TO DEATH METAL WE'LL PROBABLY HAVE FOR AN ANIME OP FOR A WHILE AS FAR AS I KNOW
FUCK YEAH BEST K-ON!! OPENING
Though my favorite once-an-episode music thing is neither an opening or ending, but the maiden songs from Star Driver.
Yeah, if we get into stuff that isn't openings or endings, my favorite piece of music from anime is probably "Reveal the World" (the gospel song that plays a few times in Eden of the East). For endings, it's probably AnoHana's "Secret Base ~ Kimi ga Kureta Mono (10 Years After Ver.)", but there are a lot that I like.
Quick question about K-On!: What exactly is the "moe moe kyun" scene? I thought it was the one where two of the characters point at the third character, on a beach or in the woods or somewhere outdoors, at night. But when I search that phrase on Youtube I get this weird transformation-sequence-like scene.
Because Spirited Away (and all of Miyazaki's stuff to some extent) is awesome:
Know what's an awesome anime movie?
Summer Wars
Agreed. I take it you've also seen The Girl Who Leapt Through Time?
Summer Wars was OKish, I guess. It starts strong but I felt the end was rather weak.
Firebert: I have not. I plan to at some point.
Can someone please answer my K-On question?
Oh, yeah, sorry. It was just Ritsu and/or Yui fantasizing about Mio as a maid being moe . . . or something. That's really all there is to it, it's kind of a non-sequitur.
But what's the one where two characters go "moe moe" with hand motions and then say a third syllable I may have forgotten while pointing at a third character?
Oh wait, here, I found it. Apparently, there are two such scenes, and the one I remember is the less famous version. uRFO4v3LLVk
