"no" is a possessive, which functions the same way as "'s", or basically a reverse "of". So "Kuro no Yume" is "Black's Dream", or more smoothly in English, "Dream of Black".
"Jikan" means "time", "kodomo" means "child", "omocha" means toy.
EET EES 4:16 NO JIKAN!
that probably made even less sense than I think it does.
We can only hope people don't miss out on Time of Eve due to confusion over its Japanese title...
I've had to explain the difference more than once.
*facepalm*
It's even worse because Time of Eve is like one of the only anime you can unashamedly show to your friends, too.
I've actually heard reasonably positive things about Kodomo no Omocha despite the unfortunate name.
I dunno. I think it's way too PONDEROUS for most people.
I've unashamedly watched Dance in the Vampire Bund while my friends were around, so... >.>
Well, it's not too anime and will appeal to Asimov fans at least.
Kodocha has actually won awards, according to Wikipedia.
By the way JHM if you want trippy animation the movie in my avatar, which is Paprika by Satoshi Kon will suffice your needs.
Hell yeah. If you like Tatami Galaxy, Paprika and Mind Game are some trippy shit.
Why do I have The Tatami Galaxy on my to-watch list?
So I started Noir at dad's house. Watched the first five episodes. It's kind of boring so far, honestly, considering the action is rather unanimated and it took five episodes for a speck of blood to appear - not that I need viscera to appreciate a show's action; it just sort of kills immersion. Not to mention rampant padding in the form of repeating still frames until they decide that something should happen.
Yeah, I found Noir to just be a weaker Madlax.
Noir was bloodless because of TV broadcast restrictions, but the creators kept it bloodless for the DVD release because they thought it was stylistic.
Given the show's subject matter, the part about broadcasting restrictions seems kind of silly.
God help me this second episode of Oreimo is actually super funny, especially Kirino's argument with the goth girl.
@nohaynicklibre: I have actually seen Paprika; it is indeed awesome.
Have not seen Mind Game yet, though.
^^ Kuroneko is the best.
Saori Bajeena is best character. Kirino is most moe. Kuroneko is annoying because it feels like the writers just like her way more than all the other characters, which I guess bugs me, like how Yuki Nagato bugs me in Haruhi.
However, Kirino's argument with Kuroneko in episode 2 definitely is great.
> Kuroneko
There's a TVT mod starring in this show?
Took the words right out of my mouth.
Apparently they're going to make Hyouka EVEN BETTER LOOKING on BD.
Hyouka is a really pretty show. Shame it's so dull.
I've still only seen the first 5 episodes...
I do like it from what I've seen though, but it's definitely not KyoAni's best work. Chitanda is pretty cute though, and main character's friend is fun.
"Say hi to the people in Jersey for me."
I like this line for some reason. As well as how nonchalantly it's delivered from a totally unfitting voice in the (original) Japanese dub of Black Heaven.
I like the pace (same case as //SIGN apparently) and I think the meta-ness is pretty awesome but they need to stop using Chitanda as a plot driver and start treating her like a character.
But the ED is still creepy and I wouldn't be able to watch it with anybody else in the room.
I don't think the ED is "creepy" but I do think it's pretty unfitting, yeah.
The song is nice though.
Okay: .hack//Quantum Dub VS AnoHana's NIS release, anybody?
Well, I'll be damned. Upon further inspection, I guess Martel's death WAS a lot bloodier in Brotherhood than the first series. I guess now I get how that episode got a TV-MA rating, even if the first series didn't.
