Because he probably went to bed at like 9 AM.Not in Hartford itself, but...hi.
And Forzare is somewhere east of Hartford.
Evergreen's also from the area but he's off to college I think.
Went to hang at beach with a couple of bros. We went for a nightly rockumentary showing("No Direction Home"), but the screen size was severely underwhelming, so ended up calling it a day early. Wasn't such a bother because sweet crowd. I'm going to be needing a datsmile.jpg

I am ashamed of myself
Is Anne active on internet communities at all these days?
Aneebeeche? She's got a tumblr. Other than that, not anymore.
But, sweet Jesus, what has she got into.
Oh boy, I was kind of afraid this would happen after I found out she had a tumblr. Not exactly surprised, but disappointed.
Tsk. Anne, I heart you, but tsk.
Also, Slashmaid makes me feel funny in my pants. And not the good kind of funny.
...I'm trying to understand the logic here, and I'm failing.
these are the lies of a soon-to-be-dead blasphemer!
^ It's New Social Justice Speak for: "Check your privilege"
But it's not even that. It's more "avoid interacting with minorities."
Yeah but the logic behind it is that, because white, straight, cis and/or heterosexual (Try not to drown in all the adjectives!) people are privileged, they are simply unable to understand the suffering of a minority.
because, you know, you need to suffer through things in order to understand why they're bad.
I still need to meet an IJBMer =/ Only internet person I've met in real life is my girlfriend
I very much dislike the tacit assumption that being oppressed automatically makes one correct in matters of society. Sure, their opinion may generally have more validity, but this is simply too much.
Also, while I can see patriarchy, cisnormativity and heteronormativity as "social diseases", claiming that being white is somehow a social disease is downright disgusting.
oh hey there's a redundancy there. Should have been white, straight, cissexual and male.
But anyway, Anne's white, bisexual, cissexual and female. Two outta two.
@Icalasari: I don't think I've met anyone from online in real life; the idea still seems a little weird I have to admit.
A lot of this kind of stuff boils down to "don't question it", which makes for a one-sided conversion, which in turn makes for frustration. And frustrating people isn't a good way to allow them to see your point of view, so everything falls down and the movement becomes an insular echo chamber.
What you need is for people who hold [noun]ist views (but don't really know they do) to be comfortable in open conversation and soak up a different perspective. This is how I realised how [noun]ist some of my previous views were and how I changed. If Tumblr social justice was what exposed me to the views I hold currently, then I would probably still hold my old, vastly more questionable ideas about [noun]ism.
It takes time and patience, the latter of which Tumblr social justice does not seem to have.
And as much as I know "reverse racism" isn't really a big thing and all that, a lot of that Tumblr stuff does make me feel trivialised. I'm white, male, heterosexual and cisgender and I think people who aren't those things are cool cats also, but it's frustrating to have my views inherently qualify for less because I'm white, male, heterosexual and cisgender.
So it all comes around full circle, really, doesn't it? Tumblr social justice is pretty much a dead end at this point, and I hope actual activist groups around the world stand against it. I spent some time as part of a socialist activist group a couple of years back, and it was a wholly superior, more comfortable and more educational experience.
Yeah but the idea is not to see "Being white" as a social disease. Some people do that shit and it's disgusting, true, but the fact is that most western societies do tend to discriminate against non-white people. Pretending that this is not a social disease on par with the other three you mentioned seems a disingenous to me.
But that's not what she said. What she said is that whiteness is a social disease.
Well, certainly. Had she used "white privilege" or something along those lines instead of "whiteness", I'd be perfectly okay with it. This way, it just appears that being white somehow makes you a social undesirable, just by the virtue of your skin colour. Maybe it's just really, really badly worded, but still.
Ninja'd.
This.
You can't cause someone to accept a new point of view by force. You can, however, make them comfortable with accepting it.

What does "4294967293" mean here? I'm aware that that number is 65536 * 65536, but does that mean that printer has 65536*65536 dpi? That would be way freakin' more than 600*600 dpi.
^^^^^^ I still want to meet some IJBMers :<
Anybody live near Airdrie, Alberta?
Isn't like half of IJBM in Alberta?
Calgary for me. Me and Icalasari, Prairies all the way, bitches.
