I'm an awful human being that has to read the tie-ins unless I don't care about the event.
Paying for this shit makes you way more leery.
@INUH: Nice! Can't wait to see how it goes.
>Juan
>Paying for shit
dude
you know me
you know what the issue here is
Oh I know, I know. Wasn't trying to chastise you. Just saying. There's no fucking way I'm paying for a Judd Winnick book, especially one about The Red goddamn Hood.
ahahah, Judd Winnick's writing both Red Hood and Catwoman? Wow. Bluh
Anyway, I hear the event's involving the whole of DC, which is the main reason this bugs me, really. I mean, the Court of Owls was awesome as a Gotham element that Batman himself had to combat, as well as the realization that maybe he doesn't know his stomping grounds as well as he thought he did. I dunno, mixing all the others into that seems to ruin that air of noirish detail that I love about Snyder's Batman so far.
From what I've seen all the books it touches have been set in Gotham. Catwoman, Birds of Prey, Nightwing, etc. so it's not like it's a world situation.
Honestly, I think when seen how well the Court of Owls was received DC basically decided to turn it into an event.
But like I said, I don't give a fuck about books I'm not already reading. If it bled over into, say, Demon Knights or Frankenstein I'd be a bit more pissed.
I think it's been mentioned that's bleeding into Superman/Action Comics, but I'm not sure.
honestly, it's more of a matter that I really like the storyline and I don't want it to conclude badly because it overtasked itself by importing all these characters.
I'm looking at the checklist and Action Comics isn't on it.
Though I get where you're coming from. I think at the end the tie-ins will just be 'x character fights a talon' while Batman continues on its merry way.
oooh, there's a checklist? where?
Most likely. It's just that I don't think the storyline merits an event, in the first place. And I normally don't like large scale stuff unless they manage to pull a sense of urgency off (Final Crisis and Spider Island come to mind.)
@INUH: Dude, I showed my sister the picture of the finished product, and now she kinda wants to make one as well.
why do i miss the fun stuff
^^Of course she does. Who wouldn't? :P
^^ Because you aren't on that often in the first place?
bluh that heartwarming thread is seriously making me reconsider reviving my liveblog thread thing. i even have a draft, but ugh effort
What were you liveblogging, again?
Well, I never started it, but I was planning on liveblogging Grant Morrison's Batman. I just haven't gotten enough motivation to actually reread the whole thing. >_>
that and i'unno, as much as i love it, i don't think i can really bring a perspective to it that i'd really want to write.
Ah.
i wish centie was on here when i was
^
d'awww
I wonder if my camera can take decent outdoor pictures at night...
With a tripod, any decent camera can. Otherwise it's a lot more iffy and depends on if you're able/willing to use a flash.
Dammit, why am I laughing so hard at this?!
My sister lost the parts to my tripod, unfortunately...
Dammit, I just want a picture of a Wendy's to show Anonus!
which one
The Neutraface one
You're making me want to take up smithing
But I can't yet
So stop it >
^^Oh right.
^^It's not smithing; I'm not going to make the rings myself :P
It's more like knitting. But with metal instead of yarn and pliers instead of needles.
