Okay Steam updated the Community tab to be more Facebook like, and it's worse in pretty much every way.
A lot of network-type things are doing that. The funny thing is that I was under the impression that Facebook was being used less and less over time.
My god, how did I miss this news?
(Mostly) finished Yume 2kki. You know, I would have never expected a Yume Nikki fangame to have such happy endings.
2kki is pretty weird, because the extremes are more pronounced than in the original game. Nikki was eerie, but nothing really felt especially creepy, except for a few select events. Likewise, nothing was light or cheerful.
In 2kki though, there are more extremes. The cute stuff is pretty cute and the creepy/fucked up stuff is VERY fucked up. For example, there's a room in a game where you find a pregnant figure. The floor is filled with some rosy liquid, and the only ambient sound are a baby's cries. To top it off there's a huge red tentacle in one of the walls. Two doors away of this room there's a dressing room where you can dress your character in a maid outfit with twintails. I guess it's the result of the game being a collaborative project, but it doesn't feel as cohesive as Yume Nikki
>But Nohay! No one has played or cares about this game!
fug :DDDD
Is it considered irony for the Neo Geo (as a console) to have tanked horribly, despite the Neo Geo arcade cabinets being extremely cost effective?
That's MySpace. Facebook is only becoming more and more integrated with everything.
No, what I meant was that I was getting the impression that Facebook is just starting to undergo what Myspace went through a bit before Facebook took off.
And integration proves nothing, except that companies finally noticed this Facebook thing. What I'm getting from word-of-mouth is that it seems like everyone I know is jumping ship on Facebook.
Ace Attorney 5 is happening.
^Pleeeeaaase localize this one.
I don't think they'll skip it; I think the only reason AAI2 didn't get localized is because the first one wasn't as successful as the main series, though I could be wrong.
Random MMX Maverick Difficulty Rating with No Upgrades Because I'm damn bored:
Launch Octopus: The tornado drain isn't the main problem. It's the volley of missiles and homing torpedoes that gets me. There's really a lot you have to pay attention to in his fight. I feel that he truly deserves to be the hardest Maverick in X1.
Sting Chameleon: Simply put, don't panic during the random spike volley. It helps immensely. Keeping your distance away from him helps with his Iron Tongue and Chameleon Sting attacks.
Spark Mandrill: Really the fact that his Dash Punch is cancelled by Charge Shots causes his difficulty to go down quite a bit. Still he is fond of corning you and likes to follow it up with a Dash Punch when you're not fully charged.
Boomer Kuwanger: Stick to the walls unless you like walking right into him. As he likes to teleport a lot, this fight drags on a bit. Still makes me panic more than Flame Mammoth.
Flame Mammoth: I find that the conveyor belt is often fond of making Mammoth corner you, which makes it a bit tricky to get out of it unless he changes the direction. And the timing of his jumps takes some getting used to.
Chill Penguin: Yes, Chill Penguin is not at the bottom of this list. I know, I'm surprised too. He's still easy regardless.
Storm Eagle: Honestly, he's also a joke. He might catch you during the divebombs, but that's it. Learn when to jump during the Storm Tornado and he's cake.
Armored Armadillo: If you keep shooting normal shots, he'll keep blocking. But you'll eventually hit him as he tries to block or fire back. His rolling attack is rather pathetic too.
Ubisoft is getting smarter.
EA, meanwhile, is getting dumber.
As is Capcom.
Capcom and Square Enix must be on the same wavelength then.
At least Square has the decency to not admit it though.

This is why we can't have nice things.
That said, this kind of drives home the fact that Valve is such a rich company that it can afford to collect $100 fees and then just give them to charity.
I've kind of suspected that valve would eventually would have a fee to reduce the noise in greenlight. I did not suspect such a high one.
So. Thinking about saving money for a new stuff soon.
Got any recommendations for me? I won't accept Dark Souls, Demon Souls, The Witcher, Spec Ops: The Line or Dragon's Dogma though.
So you won't accept things that people here actually want to recommend?
(well, if you didn't mention Spec Ops, I'd just think you meant you didn't want action RPGs or something, but as it is it kind of just looks like you don't want to play games if they're popular... >.>)
Not that I have any other recommendations though. Dark Souls really is the only recent game I've played for any significant amount of time (that I can think of right now anyway).
^^^ Should have been more like $25. About $10 to $30 is the limit for "this is just a small amount of money".
$100 is a pain in the ass.
Um, I like fighting games and action games. RPGs too. Um... don't like horror games (cuz I'm a wuss), or strategy games that much.
Gah this was a stupid idea. I sound like a damn hipster.
...?
I'm not sure what the category here is.
What kind of games do you like?
What systems do you want games for.
Well, I usually like fighters, platformers, action games, RPGs, occasionally FPSes that don't have a cover system, puzzle games, and whatever the hell Reccetear is. I apologize for being an idiot.
^ Either DS, GameCube, PS2, 360, Wii or even PS1 will work.
Four of the five games you said you didn't want are action RPGs.
Again, I'm being an idiot.
You know what? I guess it's the overall.... feeling(?) of those games I didn't like.
I honestly have no clue why I'm not interested in those games. I just don't.
I'll just shut up and save up everyone the trouble.
.

(Spelunky) - Hmm, why not? Couldn't hurt.
I'll look into the other games as well.
Also, Final Fantasy V (SNES version, RPGe translation)
... I will forever state that the GBA translation is superior, Glenn. Because I like silly translations like that.
NOTE TO SELF: THINK before making a post and embarrassing one's self. Especially when groggy.
Don't worry; your edit ninja'd my F5.
I was talking more on my first post anyways.
Um, sorry about the confusion, guys?
I can confirm that this game is good. (It's an action RPG for the GBA. Combat is similar to the Tales series, overall feeling is sort of like the Atelier series, maybe?)
Its sequel is also good, though I haven't finished it.
The 360 version of Spelunky is super fun if you have people to do co-op with. I imagine single-player is fun too since it's Spelunky, but I haven't played it.
And I have no opinion on any of the other games GMH posted, apparently.
