Okay, there is a segment later in this episode that is just bullshit difficulty. It's the second, third and fourth times I've died.
Finished the episode.
...Wow.
Anyway, stuff I can talk about until people have finished it...
The choice descriptions didn't display properly, but it did show the percentages. Interestingly, all of them were very close to the 50/50 mark.
>episode 3
oh my god it's out
That was my reaction last night.
I am so excited right now but I don't think I'll be able to play it for a few days.
fuckin college
fuckin
friends
So, I've once again caught up with everything in Greenlight.
Number of games in the system: 583
Number of games that I was unable to confirm as sucking: 66
Faith in humanity: waning.
Onwards to X5 Challenge Run and remove the taste of X6 from my mouth!
Status: Actually got the Enigma to actually destroy the colony. Yes, I'm just as surprised as you are.
Bosses Beaten: Duff McWhalen (Whose stage is pretty much Blaze Heatnix 0.6) and The Skiver (He's so easy he doesn't deserve to have "The" in his name).
Okay, maybe it wasn't one of their staff doing the translation, but at least, they were closely associated with its work, so much so that I don't remember even that the localizer had a separate name.
I DO know that it was entirely finished, even the translated version, and ready for release for a long, long time. Like, several months.
For what it's worth, an unofficial way to get a DRM-free version involves patching the game. I won't say any more since I don't know whether that's endorsed by Carpe Fulgur.
But if you want to give Carpe Fulgur more money, you can always buy another copy from a digital distributor of your choice.
The new La-Mulana plays a lot differently than the original. Puzzles were shifted around, and there's a ton of things they added that changes the gameplay experience. It's nothing like the Cave Story ports. They added a lot more content.
And wow, do people even know what Greenlight's for? I've seen people saying "oh I want this game on Steam!" when that's not really the case. (I've seen people uploading stuff about Minecraft, saying that they want this game.) Not to mention, there's a fuckton of trainwrecks too. And why are people uploading PORN GAMES!?
Seriously? Haven't actually seen that.
Valve takes them down fast. Those get reported quickly. Be thankful you haven't seen them.
Anyway, it's still doing the thing where it's saying a number of games I haven't rated, but won't show me them. Anyone know what the deal is there?
So, second big announcement is of course XIII-3, um Not!XIII-3 (But it's basically XIII-3).
Lightning's Saga : Final Fantasy XIII (They're so obsessed with her she's now before the Final Fantasy, is she that popular here or in Japan?)
Official Logo.
FWIW, I think she's the only post-7 FF character other than Tidus for whom I can match a name to a face.
Everyone should upvote this right goddamn now.
I downvoted that one yesterday; It's a generic fighting game with a gimmicky skin.
I would rather say that that's the point of it.
Upvoted.
I know, but I don't think that's enough to carry a game I'd want to pay money for.
Yeah, but as there's nothing actively wrong with it, I don't know if downvoting is good, as opposed to just not touching it.
Anyway, although I wouldn't want to pay money for it, its gimmick is amusing enough that others may want to play it. Thus, upvoting.
I'm just generally opposed to one-joke games. Same reason I downvoted DLC Quest.
-shrug-
Your choice.

I kind of feel bad for you fans.
That said, that port's been really tempting, even though it's 20 bucks.
That fighting game is the correct way to decide who gets to be president.
I upvoted that and the washing machine knight one because funny.
Now I'll have to buy it T_T
Anyway, Steam Greenlight is actually showing me games I haven't rated yet, but only mixed into a list of all the games in the system. And if I click on "Customized list of games to rate" it says this:
So...I can't actually see the stuff I don't already know about except by sorting through a list of hundreds of games I've already seen? Great system.
Why doesn't Steam Greenlight allow searching by name?
Workaround: Use Google.
Anyway,
ZombiU looks great. Seems a AAA developer finally went "you know, if the genre is called survival horror, maybe your character shouldn't be an all-powerful killing machine."
just
what a clusterfuck What was this? I never really even came close to dying. Nothing stuck out to me as unfair like that but from the second episode where the brother was standing right outside the door with a gun.
