I wish I had enough money to throw in before it ended But I don't have any money for a week and a half.
I particularly like this project for two reasons. One, the guy making it is just so earnest about it- he's not reading off a rote letter to say thank you, he's honestly thanking everyone, and he's honestly excited about making this game.
And second, it's an RPG which doesn't follow the usual layout. In fact, that'd be enough to get me excited on its own- but this one promises to be some sort of awesome crossover between Bastion and Dungeons of Dredmor, which is fuck yes.
It's closer to Bastion and Grimrock, as far as I can tell.
And yeah, I really liked that about the guy. You can just watch him in the video and know that he's pretty much the exact sort of person Kickstarter exists for.
... I meant Grimrock, hahaha.
I am really glad he got funded, I would have felt terrible for the guy if he'd got that close and then not got funded.
You know that animated adaptation of Eric Powell's The Goon that David Fincher was producing but got cancelled? It's back on Kickstarter!
So my dad wrote a novel and is trying to Kickstart an initial print run.
I've read the book, and it's a pretty good hard-boiled detective story, and the ending managed to both catch me completely by surprise and make a lot of sense in hindsight. And I'm not just saying that because he's my dad; I thought the short story collection he has for sale on Amazon kind of sucked.
Anyway, a digital copy is $8, so I'd say it's definitely worth that.
Fourth of November...
I'll throw in $25 next time I get paid.
Thanks
So...A copy of Wasteland 2 is now part of the higher tiers of Project Eternity.
This means that when all is said and done, I will have three copies of Wasteland 2 and two copies of Project Eternity. Huh.
I go to sleep and Project: Eternity makes like $140,000. It's now well over the 3.5 Million mark. O_o
Okay, so this is the tier I'm getting.
Some stuff like the documentary blu-ray doesn't seem to have been added yet, but what's the weird green thingy?
I think that's for the in-game pet.
Oh, that would make sense.
Live Stream is up.
Oh god they're brought out gummibear shots...
They also put up one last stretch goal, $330,000 in 5 hours gogo.
I'm assuming there's an inside joke here?
They've got 100K in Paypal donations, so not even that much.
So, I'm looking through Kickstarter's "most funded" lists, and Eternity is definitely the third-most funded Kickstarter ever, after the Pebble and OUYA. Impressive.

Oh Alex...
Now that cuts deep.
I don't understand why people keep saying this. I have seen nothing to indicate the thing's not coming out.
People really like calling high-profile Kickstarter projects sketchy because cynicism.
I mean, some of them are sketchy as hell, but OUYA is less so than some.
There really seems to be a massive backlash against this idea of an open-source budget console and I genuinely can't figure out why. Most of the reasons I've seen boil down to "it's sketchy" or "it's Android". The former isn't true, and I can kind of understand the latter but not really.
I do sympathize with the people who say "they lied about the games being free," since they advertised that heavily, but then went back on it and said "all games must have at least a free demo."
Meh.
I think it's more that they originally planned to make them all free and then went "wait shit that's not how that works". Rather than active malicious disinformation. Opinions will vary on whether that's better or worse.
My point is, the thing's only $100. That's less than half of one of my paychecks, and I work at a grocery store part time. I think it deserves a chance if nothing else.
Eternity is done. Including Paypal, over 4.2 million. Very nice.
So technically speakin', this is one of those Steam Greenlight things rather than a Kickstarter
however, I implore you all to support MagicMaker. You can currently download the (surprisingly full) Alpha through that link for free, it's totally worth your time.
It's a bit like Terraria mixed with Copy Kitty under the stipulation that I've never actually played the former and thus only have secondhand information to inform me of what it's like. Suffice it to say, you're a wizard, and you've got a magic wand, some spells, and a robe. All of these are customizable by collecting assorted random drops and then talking to certain NPCs. It's all really cool, and the art-style seems to be rather MS Paint Adventures influenced which I'm sure some folks will like.
I'd check it out if I were y'all cuz it's cool and stuff. If you like it upvote it on Greenlight. I want it on Steam.
Which is great, because even though I loved Magicka it was goddamn hard and I could never finish it.
These two games look vaguely interesting.

YES.

DO IT.
That game tries to create a unique game by combining all the superpower and videogame cliche powers and dropping you into a sandbox.
That is not only highly ambitious and effort-consuming, but totally boring as a concept for me.
The only thing I can see this product become is a clunkier Saint's Row with worse character customization and *~#SUPERPOWERS#~*
