Mr. W's article: wow what the fuck, people.
I am confusdl. What is the big deal exactly?
Is it not in the game enough for them?
About that Brawl webcomic, how do you publish and sell comics featuring copyrighted characters?
Parody is fair use.
Ah, right. Just never knew that also applied commercially too.
you can thank 2-Live Crew for that
Though, people do sell fanworks all the time anyway, parody or not. Though most of the time it's just on a very small scale so they don't attract much attention.
I guess nobody actually sued him?
A couple things, but primarily
A) 2 Live Crew actually sampled the original recording.
the original artists were pissed about it. Which matters more than you'd think, and more than it should.
Good news, everybody!
Clang exceeded its funding goal. Many special feels!
Neato, Alex! I also just got that Memory Eater Anthology in the mail, and it is pretty darn good.
Ah, check it out when you can. Cool stuffz.
Also, this Kickstarter for a film about obsession and the state of the comic book industry is very cool-looking.
I want to support this SOOO badly, but I don't know which reward would be enough to build a bed with (I'd kind of need to know so I'd be able to figure out if I could afford it or not...)
Charlie Kaufman wants to make a stop motion animated film the guys who made Morel Orel and Community. Anyone else want to support this?
there's something different about the thread now
i'm not sure what it is
but there is
Pennygems launched another kickstarter, from which you can buy both the originals and several new sets.
I backed them the first time around and they are awesome.
This one's only running for 15 days, so if you want them, get them.
What are these for exactly?
Anything that requires tokens of some sort, presumably. So... RPGs, board games, TCGs, whatever.
That, pretty much. They're basically really high-quality all-purpose tokens.
I would end up using them as replacement checkers, knowing me.
I thought about getting some for Magic.
Then I remembered I don't actually play Magic in real life.
Jack Houston and the Necronauts is (still) a pretty awesome-looking pulp sci-fi adventure game that's only $15 a copy.
Divekick also looks fun and is only $10 a pop.
Castle Story has one, and it's already funded twice over after less than a day. I mentioned this awhile ago in another thread, but if you missed that, it's basically one part Minecraft, one part Dwarf Fortress, with a Lego aesthetic.
This looks pretty sweet.
