Do you have to do the movie thing? Because I just skipped the fashion show in the first White.
You have to do at least one.
Also, one of the dudes in the movie theatre gives you five Lemonades every time you release a new movie.
Do note that despite my whining about the movies and stuff, I do consider this the second-best main-series Pokèmon game.
I like the distractions so far, because to gives you something to do besides > Pokemon Battle > level up > do harder Pokemon Battle, which will be awesome for the endgame.
I don't know how it will match up to the end of the game, though. I mean, I would love it if you end up becoming like, actually famous in-universe or something, but it could just as easily end up annoying me if all these distractions do nothing.
^^I really wouldn't have a problem with them if it hadn't taken so long tutorialing the movies.
^HG/SS.
Tynamo get!
Told ya I'd use one for my team, Eelektross!
It took like two minutes?
More like six or seven.
Actually, that's been a problem throughout the series; it takes way too long explaining stuff.
8:52-8:55, so more like 3 minutes, plus another minute to watch the video.
I dunno, do you have text speed at Fast?
Although he tutorials do get annoying when they take too long. I really liked how they let you skip some tutorials at the start of the game though.
I'd only been playing for like, an hour at that point though, so I didn't mind taking a couple of minutes to learn how to make the movies.
I did have the text set to fast.
I guess part of why it bothered me was that I was expecting to head to the next area and NOPE! Go make a movie!
This game, so far, does not have the best track record for just letting you move on to the next area.
After Clay's Gym, the ground-type one, I have to go down to some Pokemon tournament thing before I can move on.
You can face all previous champions in the World Tournament
Including mother fucking Red
Also, you can surf in a fucking tree (Possible Spoilers)
But... Red isn't the Champion.
Does the tree have encounter data?
He is as of the end of Red/Blue.
Oh right. I forgot, by virtue of him being, you know, on top of a mountain, rather than actually being in the League.
Kinda like Alder, except Alder has an excuse.
Hahaha. N's Zorua registers as traded to you, so you get boosted EXP for it.
And because you don't get it until around the fifth Gym, unless you go absolutely nuts with grinding, it will probably always listen to your commands.
Oh, you also get to face Giovanni in the tournament
And all the Hoenn gym leaders
the fuck? What on earth made you think that?
I'm pretty sure some of the bonus content that you could get from events in Gen 2 established that.
...
I... really don't see how that established that at all.
^^^^ Eh, Red is a mute. Everybody probably still thinks of Giovanni as a normal gym leader
Well there was a splash noise after he walked out of the cave, but that might just have been radio static. If anything it seems like pokemon fans trying to make a kids game about catching monsters darker and edgier.
Pretty much.
Although yes, it's not as out-there as it first seemed. Sorry, Eelektross.
I hadn't actually watched the scene until now; I'd just heard about it.
I'm going to say...valid interpretation, not necessarily canon.
But at the very least, he's depressed and in hiding, not fighting in global tournaments for fun.
Giovani can never die. Only the Team Rocket grunts who play him! Oh yeah!
It has been years since then.
This just in. Giovani is actually a Doombot.
Yeah, but even if he came out of hiding, he would definitely get arrested for the whole "openly being the head of organized crime in two regions" thing.
