Won the fight against Cheren.
I got really worried when I was facing his Lillipup, as even a Level 13 Oshawott was doing maybe 20% damage a round. Lillipup used Tackle once, then started spamming Work Up. Got three Work Ups done, then I got Lillipup almost dead, and Cheren used a Potion. I managed to use Water Gun twice again, but Lillipup still had like, 30% health, and had spammed Work Up five times- and that first tackle had wiped out 20 of Oshawott's 37 HP, so if Lillipup had used Tackle again, Oshawott would have died.
Luckily, I got a critical hit with Water Gun right then, and Lillipup fainted. Phew.
Okay. Sphinx the Purrloin died facing a Patrat in the long grass before the second town
Won the second Gym through virtue of having a Level 22 Dewott to sweep everything.
Caught a Magby in the area below, but lost Patrat doing it.
Now have a Level 22 Dewott, a Level 20 Riolu, and a Level 12 Magby.
Played through the cinema studio thing. My opinion...
... It feels like the game is giving you a quirk. Like Lenora has a library and a museum, Cheren has a school, and Roxy has a rave pit/whatever she plays her music in, it feels like the game is setting you up to end up as a movie star Gym Leader.
Also, Growlithe are showing up at Level 11 in the Complex.
Hm... I was going to say that Megaman Legends's difficulty system was about as bad as or worse than Pokemon's, but then I realized that in Black and White 2, easy and hard are each exclusive to one version of the game, which is just about the stupidest video game related thing I've ever heard.
^ It's so that you'll have to interact with people again.
...What a fucking chore.
It's just... Wow he sounds like he does NOT want to be helping with game music...
x.x Turns out Riolu and Azurill are practically the only baby Pokemon that don't come with an extra base 30 happiness
I just kept my Riolu in the party with me when I walked around and took it out to beat up Ratattas in Castellia's Sewers. It managed evolve at level 17.
Which one's the easy version of the game and which one's the hard version?
You need to beat the game to unlock them.
...so the difficulty by default is, what, Medium?
>planning ahead
>Pokemon game
Well I'm not saying it's just you, but....
The difficulties are nothing to write home about anyways. Challenge mode just increases the levels slightly, and gives gym leaders an extra Pokemon. Nothing special.
Where are you in the game?
And my Lucario evolved at Level 21 as well.
Only, I suspect it would have evolved earlier, if I hadn't leveled it to 20 at night.
^Hey, same here.
Playing Challenge Mode I got from a friend who imported. Not ball-bustingly hard, but I think it's less hilariously easy.
You say it is hilariously easy, but it is much more challenging if you try to avoid having any Pokemon knocked out ever and rarely grind come past the third Gym.
This one fucking woman.
This one fucking woman keeps challenging me every time I ride past her.
Clockwork: In time for the Poison gym you mean
I train my Pokemon to level 20 for the second gym. Currently grinding to level 25 for the third gym
@Nova: Oh, Pokemon Breeders do that now. They're rechallengable.
It's annoying because she blocks the path to/from Castelia. Want to go back to the Pokemon Centre because your Trubbish is almost dead? Hahaha it is dead now sucks to be you.
If you have a Fire-type and a Marill/Azumarill, you really don't need to.
His lineup hasn't changed that much since the previous game, so you can still curbstomp him with a Level 20 Fire-type and a Level 20 Water-type.
In fact, even the Electric Gym was easier. Elesa only has a single Emolga now, so bringing along a Ground-type is actually viable.
My current team:
Ronin, Level 26 Dewott
Shotaro, Level 26 Lucario
Lando, Level 30 Sandslash
Ifrit, Level 25 Magby
Mincinno, Level 21 Cut Abuser And Possible Strength User One Day Maybe If She Can Learn That.
Shit yes, I got a Zorua
... it's N's old Zorua :O
... Ahaha, they've actually made a lot of the changes make sense.
Like, Team Plasma's battle music, which was one of the better pieces of music in the original game, has changed- because Team Plasma itself has split into two groups, and the group with the old battle music and uniforms aren't villains any more.
Oh, and CU- I do think that the Movie thing actually fits into the game. You've fairly consistently been going into glamorous/high society stuff in this game- you're a movie star, a fashion model with Elesa, and you're the manager of Joint Avenue, and that's just up to the fourth Gym.
Oh god yes I just found the best mechanic change in the game.
Okay, so the extra bullshit is consistent.
