"I don't think it's dying, but it needs care and it's without a trainer. Is there any way to switch a Pokemon's ownership?
"And there are more Pokemon at the Gym who need help. Could you send some nurses to help them?"
One of the senior nurses stepped forward shortly. "The hospital?" he asked. "Give me two minutes to gather my equipment and I will head there."
--
Joy shook her head. "There is currently no way of releasing another's Pokemon like that," she said. "The only ways to forcibly release a Pokemon is to either break its' Pokeball, or kill its' Trainer."
The Pokemon Centre is still busy, as you can see. If you give me a moment, I can send a Chansey with you to the gym."
There was an undertone of threat when she said "Chansey can take care of herself."
When she entered again, Jackie saw that no one was in that room. The door the Team Rocket member had left through was open, though, so she sent out the Chansey, loudly told it to heal any Pokemon it saw, and went through as silently as possible.
Once she was deeper in, she found a trail of blood and followed it to her traveling companions, wondering if anyone else had been killed.
"Uh, I'm ba--" A pool of blood and broken glass caught her eye. ". . . What happened?"
When they were inside the Gym, the nurse quickly ran over to Brock.
"This may take a few minures," he warned.
Similarly, the Chansey was lecturing Jackie on the proper method of caring for injured and unconscious Pokemon. "Chansey chanse, chans chaaansey. Chan chanse."
"Hey, Jackie. Charles."
Snow rolled her eyes at her trainer's comment. Charles then got out his Pokedex and started to scan Chansey. "After we're done with this whole mystery, I'm headed to Viridian Forest to train and catch Pokemon. Anybody with me?"
When Charles mentioned training, she couldn't help but perk up in spite of recent trauma. "I think Mercer and I both need that, yeah. Him especially; he's nearly useless in a fight. But don't tell him I said that."
She shook her head. "But anyway, we figured out what they were after. Something called an Enigma Stone. We've got theories, but we don't know how the Gym is involved in this yet."
"Can I scan your pokemon now?"
Once that was taken care of (I'm assuming no one has a problem with that), she scanned Chansey, Onyx, and Shieldon.
"Aw, darn. I forgot to scan the little guy I brought for healing. Well, I was going to check on it later anyway."
Having not seen the museum, Jackie had no theories to toss into the pot.
"Maybe after we see what Brock has to say. If he'll even tell us anything."
