Ray looked at Kevi. "Is this not the right way? We are headed up the incline aren't we?"
Greg looks over at Ray and bursts out laughing.
Then he looks over at Charles. "Yeah, it's okay. I understand."
Kevi looks at him.
"KaDABRA," he says patiently. "Dab."
Carrie was quiet the whole time
because Cygan was ignoring what Forzare said to do, as the shock was making it difficult to wrap her mind around this new development.Mind readers? I'd read so many books about that kind of stuff, but... I never really believed... Does this really change anything, though? Greg is still Greg. Mind-reading, though...
As Carrie continued to ponder this, she seemed to cheer up a little bit as her thoughts were drawn away from death.
"Oh right, Carrie." Ray said. "The Beldum was supposed to be our guide. Bring it out."
Greg looks over at Carrie and smiles. "You think you're surprised?"
Then he looks back to Charles. "No, I don't think that would help. I'm sure I'll manage to drown it out eventually."
I feel like someone's staring at the back of my head.
"Oh, hey." She noticed that she was walking away from Kevi. "If we were going the wrong way, you should have said something." She pouted, but carried on, trying to think of something less intrusive and more simplistic, like doing yoga exercises.
Carrie blinked at Greg, then smiled sheepishly. "Sorry. It's hard not to think about it."
She releases the Beldum.
Greg glances over at Jackie, then very quickly turns back to Carrie, trying not to blush.
"I-it's okay. I'm not going to ask you all to stop thinking."
I do hope I'm not bugging Greg too much. Oh, hey, that stone reminds me of that one time...
Charles began to think non stop about dead Pokemon he's seen, from Stantler to Buneary, some which he helped hunt, and some which were left by wild Pokemon in a state that would fit a horror movie
Brett looks around.
His posture somehow slumps when he doesn't see Elizabeth.
The Beldum looks towards Kevi for a moment, then nods. It turns and slowly starts to head in a northerly direction.
"Well, we have our guide." Ray said. "Jackie, I hate to impose but as you are the most physically capable I think you taking up the front would be the best."
"That's what I've been doing this whole time. Sure." Jackie couldn't help but wonder if her yoga pants were getting too small; she was going to have to get back into that, while she was on the road.
Greg is very, very thankful that Jackie is in the front and thus can't see him staring at the ground and blushing.
Carrie sighed, and absently took off her glasses and wiped them down with her shirt.
Damn it... I can't keep doing this. The world is so much more important, I... I need to be able to deal with this shit.
Everyone is too busy with their thoughts and awesome new mind-reading powers to notice that the smell of copper is back.
Kevi notices, however. He represses a shiver and resolutely does not look to his right.
Ray was following Jackie and trying incredibly hard not to think about certain things as he kept his focused straight ahead. of course, the less you want to think about something the more likely you are to, so at the very least his current thoughts were at least interrupted by profuse apologies to Greg.
...Dammit why did I listen to those guys? They seemed so honest... Hell, they had me convinced that it was there house. I helped them break in, and I never asked why they didn't have a key. They told me to wait there. I did as they stole stuff. Then the owners came home. The only reason why I didn't get into more trouble was that they said that I was just stupid enough to fall for such a trick. I'm not stupid though! I know how to skin a Stantler, what to do when climbing a mountain... I just... Gah!
The Beldum led them safely past. They soon arrived at a rope, dangling from a hole in the ceiling.
"Well, another incline." Ray said. "Who would like to go first?" Oh dear. I'm not going to impress anyone with my rope-climbing skills...
"You say that as if you wouldn't have volunteered me anyway." He probably just likes watching me from behind. Jackie laughed at her musing, and then laughed even harder when she remembered that Greg could hear her. Oh, shit.
"Well, erm... it's simply that you're the most physically capable of us and..." Greg help me out here. I hope I didn't do anything to anger her.
