He does not find anything wrong with them physically, apart from an increased heart rate and dilated pupils.
"So, uh, what's up?" Jackie walked over to Ray and the Rockets once she was done wrapping bandages around herself.
"They just went crazy and passed out."
Ray rubbed his temples before pulling out his notebook. "Greg, tell me what you gleaned before the went catatonic. No detail is too small."
Um...well, when you started asking them questions, they were freaking out thinking about how they shouldn't tell you. And then when I asked how many there were, they started counting in their heads...I figured they were scared, or had training against psychics or something, but then their thoughts just went crazy, not even forming coherent words or anything, when they collapsed..."
Greg glances down at them, presumably still getting their thoughts.
"C-can we get away from them?"
Ray furiously scribbled down everything Greg said before looking up. O-oh... too right."
As he guided Greg away he said. "It seems like they have some sort of trigger... possibly under post-hypnotic suggestion that prevents them from revealing rocket secrets. Perhaps the conflicting pressures cause their mind to break... of course this is all simply conjecture. Does anyone else have a hypothesis?"
"That would make sense..."
"Ah, before we leave, though...
Greg pulls out his Pokedex.
"Good idea, Greg." Jackie got her Pokedex out, too, careful not to do so with the bloody hand. She wiped her hand off on her sweatshirt; it was already ruined anyway.
Carrie pulled out her Pokedex.
"Too right too right." Ray agreed, pulling out his pokedex to scan the three fainted pokemon.
Greg proceeded to scan everything they'd fought, occasionally glancing back at the Rockets, but trying not to pay attention to them.
Carrie also scanned everything.
Same with Jackie.
"They're not shut off, so much as they're...jumbled."
"What should we do?" Ray asked. "They don't seem in any apparent danger but there's no telling of how long they'll be like that. Normally I'd suggest alerting the authorities once we get to Cerulean but there's what Gym Leader Brock said..."
"What did he say again? I think we should leave them, personally."
"I-is it wrong to suggest leaving them just because hearing them is really creeping me out?"
Ray paused and couldn't deny that the prospects Jackie and Charles presented were tempting. After a moment of pausing. "What happened to them here is not our responsibility. We have more pressing matters to go for. All in favor of continuing to Cerulean?"
"Aye. I don't see them bleeding out or anything. They'll be fine."
"As soon as we get to the city, we need to have that wound looked at." Ray said. "You're taking it rather well." I hope she doesn't go into shock. She's been moving around a lot with that wound.
"...Oh, should we take their Pokemon?"
"What?" Carrie asked, looking at Charles.
"Yeah, let's. We shouldn't take their Pokemon. Let's just hope some more help arrives for them, or something." Jackie tried to reorient herself, figuring out where they could go from there.
"I'm in agreement with Greg and Jackie. We should just move on." I don't know how much more of this cave I can take.
The Rocket grunt sags to the ground, knocked unconscious by the combination of mental and physical assaults.
"Charles!" Ray cried. "That was by no means necessary!"
