He started walking
Jackie began walking again, this time content to fall into place wherever.
Carrie followed as well, Bob walking just in front and to the side.
Ray followed the others, keeping his eyes peeled. While he trusted Jackie and her partner, he was still rather paranoid.
They followed the cave through. As Mercer had found, it widened as it went out.
Eventually, they emerged in the cavern. The Gardevoir looked up at them. When it saw Ray and Carrie, it looked back down at the girl.
"Hello." The girl's voice was quiet.
Greg, upon entering the cavern, goes wide-eyed and stops walking.
"Oh dear me." Ray said, slowly approaching the injured woman. "What happened to you?" then he backed off. The woman could be in shock.
Jackie stared, less affected than she would have been a day ago. "Mercer, what do you think we can do for her?" Her tone wasn't harsh or reproachful; it was an honest question. Jackie's memory lapsed, and she couldn't remember if they had anything in the way of a first-aid kit. Mercer shrunk back a little, having no communicable ideas.
"What happened to me?" The girl sighed. "Rocket's Admins caught up to me. I may be a good fighter, but even I can't stand up to five people at once."
Carrie took a hurried step forward to help, then froze. Her eyes went wide, and Bob turned to look up at her, concerned.
"...You... I... I've seen you..."
Ray knelt by the woman, trying to see if any vitals had been impaled. "Ma'am. How long have been here?"
Shit, Jackie thought. Even if we have bandages, how are we gonna be able to safely remove that thing? We're not surgeons, here. "What can we do for her?"
As she said that, Charles got to work. "Ohgodohgodohgod--"
"Yes, you have," the girl said to Carrie quietly. "I believe Milady sent you a vision of me."
To Ray, she nodded. "I have been down here for about half an hour. My Gardevoir has managed to slow the bleeding, but I am afraid we neglected to bring any medical equipment with us. I believe I will go into shock soon, if I remember Father's texts properly."
"Charles!" Ray cried, immeadiately taking his jacket and applying pressure while Charles got his things. "Warn us first." This woman was familiar. "I'm sorry ma'am, but you'll have to trust us for now."
At her next comment. "What? No No! Stay calm. We're going to get you out of here!" Even to Ray it sounded hollow.
She clenched her teeth, trying not to cry out.
"What are you doing?" she demanded. "Do you even know what you're doing?"
"Aaaaah. Sorry. Shit." Jackie muttered the last word under her breath, not sure if she should stop Charles or not. Probably not, since Ray was involved now, as well.
Carrie knelt down at her side. "Who sent us this vision?" She spoke gently. "Why us?"
She didn't have any medical experience, but maybe if she could just distract her some from the pain, they'd be able to help. She hoped.
"Charles, do potions even work on humans? What are you thinking? We're not qualified for this sort of treatment."
"Blast and damn," Ray muttered. "Phillip, stay by. Keep her warm. Please, ma'am. While we're bandaging you can you tell us what's going on?"
"Milady," the girl murmured. She gritted her teeth as more pain shot through her. "Latias, the Eon Pokemon. You were- ouch- involved in the robbery in Pewter, were you not? You know about what they took. Milady wanted you to get it back."
Greg stands a bit away from the group, still staring. He wants to help, but...there's just so much blood...
"Are we going the right way, then? Once we know that, we should get moving again."
He sprayed the wound and wrapped the makeshift bandage around the wound. He then tore another strip from his shirt and tried to tie off above the wound
"...You know, maybe I should have done that first"
Snow facepalmed
"Who is Latias?...this eon pokemon?" asked Ray. "How can we help? Why did she send you?"
Charles's last comment put Jackie past the point where she could reasonably handle the situation. She held her tongue, though, and walked in a different direction, staring hard at the ground.
"Latias is... she is Legendary, much like the others involved in this whole affair," she murmured. "However, she is not so concerned by the affairs of mortals as the others are. She merely... wishes to get her brother back."
She groaned as Charles tied the bandages. "I thank you for your assistance," she muttered, "but I do not believe it will be of much help. At this stage, I am not likely to be saved by much more than a blood transfusion. I do not suppose you have the capability to produce one of these?"
She didn't wait for his answer, turning back to Ray. "I am sorry. I will give you what information I can, before I, before I pass on."
"Jackie, what are you doing?" Ray asked. He was a bit focused on keeping the woman from bleeding out to really make a comment -mental or verbal- on Charles actions, but he didn't want to lose anyone.
Ray blanched. "No one's passing on today." he said, trying to sound full of confidence.
