Nothing happens. Either the tunnel is too long for whatever it was to notice it, or the whatever-it-was is gone.
Ray grabbed Jackie by the hand. "Careful!" he said. "There could be a trigger mechanism."
Ray, began looking around the wall. "There could be some switch that keeps the next boulder from coming."
"We still need to be careful. Rushing into a tunnel that might be booby trapped with really big rocks... isn't." Carrie seemed to be calming down some, the more logical part of her regaining control.
Ray carefully kept his hands along the wall, feeling for some kind of pressure plate or switch and tentatively put a foot out into the tunnel, ready to jump back at any moment.
With the vast amounts of nothing happening, Ray took another tentative step, ready to scramble back to safety at any point.
Greg hesitantly follows Ray.
No trap triggers.
Ray began to respond and then hesitated. A moment passed for him to realize how ridiculous it was. "Nevermind then." he said, hoping the dark would cover his embarrassment. "Let's continue on, but as always keep caution and wits about us."
"Maybe we should stay quiet. Wouldn't want to attract attention."
Ray nodded and went on, keeping an eye out for any new dangers as Phillip continued to provide light.
Snow continued to glow in his arms while Dynamo stayed just in front to intercept attacks
Their trip up the tunnel was relatively eventless, with no dead Pokemon anywhere and no boulders rolling down to crush them.
When they arrived at the top of the tunnel, they found themselves in another cave. In the middle of this cave, a large Onix was curled. It wasn't moving, either unconscious or dead. There were large dents in its' body, where something had hit it.
There are two paths here. To your left, you can vaguely see a tunnel going down on an incline; on your right, you can see the outline of a ladder against a wall, leading up.
"Does anybody here know the area?" asked Charles. "I certainly don't recommend splitting up."
"I don't, but if we're guessing, I'd think up would lead out..."
"Sounds like a plan. Any objections?"
"Up is my choice. I don't like the look of the tunnel."
"Onwards and Upwards then." Ray said with a smile, though it was beginning to tire. The cave was beginning to wear on his nerves.
