"I suppose the chances of them recruiting such easily-influenced people might depend on their methods of recruiting. Hmm." Jackie decided that she was out of her depth and kept silent on the matter. She had another idea, though. But it would wait for the camp.
Heading off, he found a tree to rest under that was just hidden from camp and sat down to think, with Snow in his arms
"Charles, you've been disconcertingly quiet the rest of the trip." Ray said in his kindest voice. "While I respect your privacy if anything untoward happens do not hesitate to scream.
"Runt?"
Charles hugged her and waited for Ray to be out of earshot before whispering to Snow. "The others don't like me. You're still my only friend..."
Greg sits down against a tree nearer the tents and looks up at the sky.
Jackie was about to ask Brandon about something when she noticed Charles sitting off by himself. "Oh, God," she whispered. She thought of walking over, but she didn't know if that would actually help his mood. Then she realized that she had to; he couldn't be left there the whole night. "Okay, then. If you don't mind." Jackie waited for him to start walking, while thinking of how to say what she wanted to say.
Snow gave off a gentle glow, enough to see by
Bob laughed silently, enjoying the show.
Greg looks over at Ray and Carrie and laughs.
"So, anyway." She started walking. "Things could be different this time. Staying out by yourself, I mean. None of us want you getting hurt or anything. You make me angry sometimes, sure, but I don't hate you. Don't we all get angry at some point? I wouldn't want you to feel like you're not welcome; you tend not to think things through before you do them, but your initiative is actually inspiring, in its own way. It gives me the impression that you're holding up really well, in spite of what we're facing."
Bob nodded solemnly.
He cuddled Snow close to his body
