I nestled against the stone and curled up a bit, hugging my legs in an attempt to get comfortable without exposing myself completely. Unfortunately I couldn't get around to avoiding the howls and devastating noises that followed soon after. Instead of hearing the silence of the night, I heard the chattering of what sounded like bones, and hissing creatures all around me. I hated these noises. They didn't belong here. All I wanted was a Peaceful life, I didn't want one filled with all of these disgusting creatures hounding me everywhere. I wanted them to go away. As soon as I peeked around the corner, I saw an opening.
I quickly scurried from the edge of the ocean over to a rocky ledge. There was a tree under it, so I took refuge under the tree, digging a small hole with my fingernails deep enough for me to hide in. I waited until the morning for all of those horrible horrible noises to cease. Finally, after waking up, I look upon the plains I previously looked upon, and there was nothing there. It was all empty again, it gave me a feeling of relief. Afterwards, I decided to continue with my journey, picking up the bones that were left behind by the ravenous monsters. I walked over to the tree, and using the bones I found, I began chipping away at pieces of the logs, eventually slicing them into fine enough pieces to make some wood to bring with me. It was there, that I began to formulate ideas on what I planned to do until somebody came by that was human, that I could talk to and relate to. I built a rickety bench which I worked my materials on, building a very crude pickaxe out of the wood I had left.
After finding my cliffside I dug into it inch by inch, slowly fading into an autismal daze as I mindlessly ripped small pieces of stone out of my way as I dug downwards into the earth. I wanted nothing to do with the surface anymore. I wanted to get away from that place. I enjoyed the eternal solitude I wished for, where all other humans who have ever hurt me ceased to exist, and all of the telephone wires, buildings, cars, everything that ever got in the way of my dreamy sky was gone for good. It made me happy that it all vanished within hours. My only regret though, was not knowing what would take over my beautiful world, when all of humanity, except for me, ceased to exist.

After zoning out my dreams and my hallucinations about everything I had in my past life, I began to hear the sound of running water, and a very disturbing echo of sound that was unfamiliar to me. It beckoned me to dig further, even though my pickaxe would not last long. I looked back towards my rickety stone steps behind me, gazing at what little light was pouring down. I didn't mind if this darkness made me completely blind. I was safe down here. With an unsure smile I dug further, and felt a small gust of air hit me, this was a sign. I broke into a small cave. I smiled as I walked towards the feel of the new air.
I woke up from my unconsiousness soon after. Unfortunately for me, being stupid in my conquest of excavation, I failed to be aware of my surroundings, and I feel into a chasm that broke my legs. I didn't know this until I attempted to stand up, and searing pain shot through my legs and made me scream in agony. I couldn't find any of my equipment, and I was completely blind in the darkness. I started to cry when I began to think to myself, that I was most likely going to die.
I layed on my chest, my thin arms pulling myself across the ground as I tried to find a wall to hug against, in a hope to avoid the hole I fell out of. As I began to crawl further along, I began to feel cobwebs in my hand, and a sickening feeling began to erupt in my stomache. This cave was inhabited by things I hated, those infernal creatures I was digging to avoid. Would the rotting corpses of the inhumane creatures also find me here? Would the shambling bones of those long dead come here to put their arrows in my chest and rip me to pieces? I didn't know, but all I knew now was that it would only be a matter of time before it was too late for me.
I heard the noise, that echoing screech in the dark. I heard the scurring of hairy legs scrape against the stone in the cave, and I knew my end was going to come soon. I looked behind me, and saw a red blot far off into the distance. It was one of them. I heard it's eight legs crawl around across the cave walls, slowly inching towards me, hearing an eerie hiss emit from it's twisted mouth as it inched closer and closer to me. I was helpless to fight back. I couldn't even run.
Finally I felt those hairy legs grab onto my legs, and I knew that the nightmare would begin once more.
