Hey, I don't care. I don't care so much I let you know I don't care. I so don't care that I care even less than when I don't care. I really don't care. I care so little I'll post in the next few pages to reiterate my lack of caring. I don't care OKAY.
Edit: Oh, seen this, Myr? Something you can feel smug about. :P
You completely missed the point of my question.
That being said, I thought most people on the TV Tropes forums disliked Troper Tales anyway. I guess I base that off of discussions of it in the forums, especially how people talked about the 33 pencils story. Now I am not totally sure what the consensus opinion on Troper Tales is there. Personally, I would like to cut out the more annoying/creepy ones, but keep Troper Tales until there is compelling evidence that the wiki can keep "this troper" type stuff off of the main pages. There might be a way of doing that effectively without keeping troper tales though. If so, I have no emotional attachment to those pages and I would be fine with seeing them go.
As for whether we should care about TV Tropes' reputation, I think we should care only to the extent that it is actually going to affect the wiki. Basically, if someone on a another site brings up a good point about how certain parts of the wiki like Troper Tales turn people off of the wiki, I think it is worth listening to that opinion because of its merits. In general, I guess I think not listening to what other people think about a site is only a good idea if they are generally spouting nonsense (which I do not think is the case here) or if the site does not want more traffic and new contributors.

This is a fun thread. I didn't post in it, or post it, but it was a nice read.
You underestimate the idiocy that is TT.
