  • There is love everywhere, I already know

    They're ugly as hell.

I like them quite a bit.

That, and he's got a massive dose of sameface going on.

    I already said:

I was just going to say every show that looks exactly like Gundam SEED.

  • Stylish? They're ugly as hell.

Eh, it's distinct enough from the typical anime style, so it's fine in small doses (particularly in earlier works when it still wasn't as defined). And since there are only series in which he worked that are worth watching (or one, depending on your tastes), I'd say I can live with it.

  • This actually looks like something that I'd watch.

  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

^I've read the manga, it's very good, but VERY dark. Like Berserk levels of dark.

  • Has friends besides tanks now

I'd heard about it already, and I was curious. How long was the manga?

  • edited 2012-12-15 20:56:34

40 chapters, apparently.  And it's a monthly series.

  • a little muffled

    What manga?

  • edited 2012-12-15 20:58:00

Presumably, Shingeki no Kyojin, since it's what that video is related to.

  • edited 2012-12-15 21:16:39
    a little muffled

I didn't really feel like watching through the video to see if there was a romaji title in there.

Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

    "Attack of Titan".

vv Whoops, yeah, that's the one I mean.

  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

I prefer "Advance of the Giants" as a translation.

  • "Attack on Titan" actually shows up in the logo for the series though... >.>

  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

^Don't care. That's an awfully Engrishy title.

  • I'm a damn twisted person
When has the accuracy of translations ever kept fans from preferring their own nonsense?
  • a little muffled

Yeah when I saw "Attack on Titan" I figured it was talking about the moon of Saturn.

  • edited 2012-12-15 21:46:39

^^ I'm not even sure who you're talking about right now, but I just think that if there is an official English translation, whether it comes from the original creators or a localization company, you should use that (or just the Japanese title) instead of any alternate translations in order to reduce ambiguity in conversations that comes up when different people call the same thing by different names.

Ridi, Pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto!

NO, not my baby! Titan is my favorite.

  • a little muffled

I was very confused until I remembered your username.

  • Ridi, Pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto!

Remembered? Could have just look an inch up.

  • There is love everywhere, I already know

Looks great, but I'm kind of weary of it for some reason.

Nekomonogatari PV2 (Despite being CM sized). ...It sure is -monogatari!

  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

Does that mean it's going to be filled with dumbly suggestive scenes?

  • edited 2012-12-16 00:44:43

Probably.  But mostly head tilting and black/red/whatever scenes and powerpoint.

  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.

Where would the monogatari series be without the head tilting?

  • JHMJHM
    Here, There, Everywhere

^^^^ Ufotable's animation and art are generally lovely, and that's not exception, but again: I'm not getting anything remotely interesting from it.

^^ And that peculiar circular eye/angular hair thing that NisiOisin-based series have (which I happen to really like).

There is love everywhere, I already know

Zetsuen no Tempest 6: I don't know how to feel about any of these characters anymore.

They're all terrible people. Mahiro is loyal, but is also a psycho and may or may not have had a thing for his non-biological but still sister. Yoshino is perceptive and cool, but he's also a being lacking in emotions or guilt. Hakaze is obviously up to something and Junichiro is probably in on it.

Not much happened in this episode otherwise.

Zetsuen no Tempest 7: Apparently they realized they hadn't turned Aika into a monster yet, so they did. She's basically Mahiro as a girl and less obvious with her crazy. We're getting very endgame for mid-show though...

I hope we get back to the plot soon, cause I have to admit I'm tired of the "We're all morally grey!" thing now. I have to admit the way the handled their little sister crush thing was great, with both participants being... not in the most healthy mental states.

My favorite part of this episode is when Aika leans down to Yoshino to kiss him and he fails to reciprocate. She realizes that on some level she does desire a partner who, if not lead, can meet her halfway (quarter-way, in this case).

Her description of Yoshino as adaptive and lacking in a sense of personal liability also rings true, so I don't mind it as much now.

The ending theme will never be the same for me though...

Zetsuen no Tempest 8: Not quit endgame yet, apparently.

The government has started their attack on the Kurisabe and we've learned Samon's motivations. The scenes with Junichiro annoyed me quite a bit, since he was just randomly talking in the middle of nowhere in sync with Samon.

So Hakaze is probably dead, maybe not, I'm betting it shouldn't be too hard to figure out a memory replacement spell for someone like Samon.

I want to see Hakaze shine a bit more as so far she's proving to be the most interesting of the cast aside from the psycho siblings. I also feel like there was a bit too much time spent with Samon's underdogs and not enough with Hakaze for a one cour show, but of course nobody has confirmed this is one cour yet anywhere...

Samon is also proving very interesting. How did Yoshino manage to get overshadowed by everybody all of a sudden?

As for the next episode preview, Nana Mizu Evangeline takes the spotlight apparently and Yoshino finally tells Mahiro about him and Aika, maybe.

I feel like we need a new ED, it's unfitting, especially for episodes about how the character the voice actress singing it is crazy and people dying and time travel.

    Also, time travel (!) :|

  • There is love everywhere, I already know

    Doublepost+Megapost ho!

    Let's take a look at Winter 2013:

Ai Mai Mii: School girl comedy based on a 4koma, I want to try it but I'm pretty sure those are tentacles in the promo image. So no.

AKB0048 Next Stage: Second season of the promising yet dissapointing space idol anime. I have a lot of hope riding on the second half of this show but I know nothing will come of it. On the other hand, cute outfits and more AKB48, hopefully they can do Gingham Check this time.

Amnesia: Yet another Otome game adaptation, while it's nice to see variety, it's probably just Hiiro no Kakera with amnesia and spirits!

Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman: Judging from the plot snippet this will probably be terrible but all the "The 70s anime were the best!" guys will say otherwise. The Lupin designs aren't helping.

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT: Second season of Hanagai, the manga I once read where I got yet another Girl on the cover is not the MC twist ("You think it's shoujo? It's harem!" It taunted me as I put it down.), so... no.

Chihayafuru 2: I was really excited about this when it was announced, but I'm kind of down from my Chihaya high now. I'll probably watch it after the season is over.

Courtesy Of Zettai Karen Children The Unlimited Hyoubu Kyousuke: The Zettai Karen Children spinoff, I don't know, it seems like it'll be decent-to-great but it's not my kind of show.

Cuticle Detective Inaba: So. Much. Not. Worth it. Feels like Ao no Exorcist and Code Breaker ie. Shounen that is neither bad, good or special.

Da Capo III: Interesting plot but it's a harem of absolutely nothing happening aside from the harem girls blushing at whatever the MC says and acting like every anime girl ever as if the script were assembled by an algorhythm that watched seven thousand anime and picked random but fitting dialogue, so no.

DokiDoki Pretty Cure: It's Precure, so duh I'm watching it.

GJ-bu: based on a "4Koma Light Novel" series, so it'll either be pretty okay or terrible. Either way, cute girls doing cute things ho!

Hakkenden: The plot for this makes no sense so far, I'm watching it for Ayahi Takagaki and maybe to see what all this bead world nonsense is about. Almost confirmed to be another "bishounen-fawning-over-protagonist" show, though it could turn K or Zetsuen no Tempest at any minute.

Hetalia: I haven't seen any of the seasons before and I'm not starting now.

Ishida to Asakura: Daily Lives of High School Boys 2.0.

Kotoura-san: Okay, ESP club at a school sounds interesting, combining it with a 4koma? Not so much. Could be a decent comedy though.

Love Live!: Aside from looking a creepy amount like The iDOLM@STER, there's nothing stand out about this. Even the PV seems to know it's going to be the most boring show on earth with it's first episode preview-ness.

Mangirl!: I thought this was some kind of "Let's Laugh at Transgender People" thing until I realized it stood for "Manga Girl", still doesn't make it interesting since this is the seventh or sixtieth show this season with the "3-9 girls start an X club" show.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha: Spice & Wolf's darker twin sibling, Spice&Wolf was quite mediocre for me and I don't like this show either, it's not really giving me anything to care about. Emotions cannot be replaced by economics (also, if I wanted to study economics I'd look into one of my textbooks, what is this doing in my animuz?)

Minami-ke Tadaima: Never seen the previous seasons, don't feel like starting now.

Mondai Jitachi Ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sou Desu Yo?: Also known as Mondai...rest of the title. Seems standard out but I think it's adorable all the same. I'm on board.

Nekomonogatari: Sure is some -monogatari-ish -monogatari!

Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru: A high school age boy is stuck between two girls who both look at least five years younger than him. The artstyle is also so pastel that actually watching this from start to finish may cause serious eye damage.

Puchimas Petit IDOLM@STER: Tiny adorable idols!... No thanks though.

Sasami-san@Ganbaranai: I was also into this at the beginning of the Fall season, but not anymore. Looks okay.

Senran Kagura: BOOBS AND NINJAS! No thanks.

Senyuu: Adorable, heroic and Bandai distribution, what's to hate? It's shorts, that's what.

Tamako Market: Despite flooding this thread with info on it and screamed my loyalty to it, the information revealed has put me off, so my second consecutive KyoAni not-watch.

Vividred Operation: I'm watching it. Magical girls are more powerful that creepy short shots.

Yama No Susume: Shorts, seems cute. I'll give it my time but it better get subbed, unlike Otakuna English >_>

Why do I continue skipping cute girls doing cute things shows? None of them seem earnest to me. They're no K-On or Natsuiro Kiseki, most are just Lucky Star with the spirit and love ripped out.

I think part of the Tamako Market drop has to do with the "throwaway" feeling I'm getting from it. It seems like there was something there when they started, but when they dropped the fantasy elements they lost it and introduced a buttload of characters instead.

  • Kichigai birthday!!
I saw rumours on /a/ abour Watamote getting an anime, know anything about it?
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

    Elemental Gelade.

It has a theme song by savage genius.

    > check ANN

It has a soundtrack by Yuki Kajiura.

    > bumped up to a higher-priority slot for watching

  • Girl on the cover is not the MC twist

It's not exactly a twist...  It's kind of standard that you show the girls on the covers because the protagonist is boring and unappealing.

Hakkenden: [...] though it could turn K

Oh God I hope so.  I want every show to be K.

I want every show to be Instagrammed screencaps of Battlefield 3 with bishounen.

Love Live!: Aside from looking a creepy amount like The iDOLM@STER, there's nothing stand out about this. Even the PV seems to know it's going to be the most boring show on earth with it's first episode preview-ness.

It's going to be Manabi Straight but with idols instead of vague sci-fi.

Which I guess means it'll be extremely boring, yeah.

Anyway I'm looking forward to basically nothing next season except maybe Vividred, so... hopefully there's no way I can be disappointed?

  • There is love everywhere, I already know

    Elemental Gelade.

GMH, your musical priorities, please check them.

/a/ abour Watamote getting an anime

It’s Not My Fault That I’m Not Popular? I want to say I don't think so but Daily Lives of Highschool Boys was serialized in the same online format as it and it has a very strong international fandom, so who knows what'll happen. Probably not this season anyways.

It's kind of standard that you show the girls on the covers because the protagonist is boring and unappealing.

Yeah, but it doesn't stop it from being annoying.

I'm looking forward to AKB0048 Next Stage, Mondai and whatever Vividred will decide it's about.

I might pick up Senyuu if the BDs are up to par with Bandai distributions, since they'll be relatively cheap then.
