Yeah, it's the same writer as The Lodger, which featured...blinking lights. This writer is kinda weird, and that's not the only way.

MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
You know, I really want Simon R. Green to do Doctor Who. Even if it's a novel or audio drama, I would eat that crap up.

^Huh. I remember the dialogue in the lodger being much better.

I dunno. This is amusing me far more than the Lodger. Not like the Lodger was a bad comedic episode, but...yeah

And also, I've noticed that while the horror has sucked, the show has managed to keep and improve its comedic angle, imo.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
The Lodger had definite John Hughes-homage vibe to it which warmed me to it immensely.

There's a lot of good comedy in the episode (sans one line) just some of the serious bits have some real groaners.

Yeah, this writer is better at comedy than drama. He's not bad at drama, but he's not especially good, either.

    Mexican fag
Guise, I'm going back to sleep. I need to watch or read something lighthearted and not soul-scarringly horrific when I wake up

    Suggestions?

  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
    Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

    Flight of Dragons

  • Burn Notice!
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
    Slayers
  • Finished a first-aid course. This should placate any victims I make due to my clumsiness.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

    Belief
Everyone likes to swim in a pool of raspberry jelly!
  • You can change. You can.
But it's a hertwarming stories about lesbians surviving monsters with chainsaws! >:D

Well, not really, but it's still much better than your run-of-the-mill horror out there, imo. Mostly because there's very few gore scenes, making the ones that appear much more shocking. Also, it's not slapstick like Saw.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
Looking up spoilers, I remember seeing the end of that movie.

I didn't understand then. Now I do. I'm so glad you introduced me to a movie wherein a woman has her stomach torn open and her intestines eaten. Thank you very much for that.

I'm a bit confused though. Looking up spoilers, didn't Juno only stab Beth accidentally? Why does everyone turn against her then >:|
  • When an accidental stabbing turns into a cover-up.

    There is a problem indeed.

sorry. i honestly didn't expect anyone to look it up. mostly because "The Descent" doesn't sound like uplifting media.

because they don't know and paranoia.

mostly because "The Descent" doesn't sound like uplifting media.

Which is exactly why I looked it up. Mainly because I thought it had a weird name and would really be all uplifting and stuff. Like subverting my expectations or something.

    I dunno.
  • You can change. You can.
There's still the fact that, you know...I posted it. You know I love saying stuff like that.

welp, let's go for something genuinely uplifting.

    The Shawshank Redemption.
  • Ed Wood. It has some dark moments, but it's so optimistic that you'll still feel happy by the end.

  • $80+ per session
Apparently my writing is like Diablo Cody's. I don't know how I feel about this.
  • I'm asking this because I need to rebound after the soul-shattering horror that was AKIRA.

Seriously, this is coming from a guy who cheered for Lotso at the end of Toy Story 3
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, seriously. If that doesn't make you want to punch out a comet just fucking because, I don't know what will.
  • You can change. You can.
It didn't do that for me.

It did make me want to be a better more caring person.
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
Fuck you, I punched out an asteroid.

Did Juan punch out an asteroid?

No I do not think he did.
  • You can change. You can.
No. I did make a planet away with my thoughts. But that was more for my amusement and because I like seeing people die.

    Oh, Alderaan~

"Seriously, this is coming from a guy who cheered for Lotso at the end of Toy Story 3"

    Hmm...elaborate please.

And yes, Ed Wood will be good for rebuilding souls, not by avoiding the problems of reality, but embracing them and still being able to look on the bright side anyway.

  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
But you had a target, a military target!
